PEOPLE JUDGE YOU
BY APPEARANCES
_ I
“Your beauty berefts me of all
words,
Only my blood speaks to you In my
veins.”
—Merchant of Venice.
Whether In school, among your
chums, In the social set, or even in
the business world, It Is always the
ones who are pleasant in the sight
of other* that have the most
friends and get the most attention.
Haven’t you noticed It? Maybe
that very thing is holding you
back.
It Is so easy for any boy or girl
to make themselves attractive, ev
en without fine features. A clear
skin never fails to draw admiring
gazes and unless you can com
mand them, you have little chance
of Impressing anyone with that
winning way you have.
All you need to do is to clear
your skin each night by rubbing a
thin film of the Cleansing Cream,
which bears the well-known Black
nnd White label, into the pores so
It can work out all the accumula
tion and make them active so they
can radiate the glow of the skin
pigment, and thereby make your
face your fortune.
After your first experience with
Black and White Cleansing Cream,
you will never let a single night
go by without first using it. It Is
not •’heavy" and does not overload
the skin with oils, and leaves the
skin smooth and lovely Instead of
greasy. Most all dealers have it In
liberal sizes at 25c and 50c.

IRREGULARITY OF BRIM |
LINES FEATURE OF |
PARIS HATS.
Irregularity of brim lines is more
than ever a feature of millinery
styles in Paris now, according to
cable information from that city to
the Retail Millinery Association of
America. Reboux has recently put
particular emphasis on the right
side, the bulletin of the associa
tion says, rolling it up, slashing it,
or finishing it with long tab or
wing entenslons.
“Leontlne, Loulson and Marcelle
Dumay are partial to broad-back
brims,’’ the bulletin goes on. "These
are triangular or cut out in scal
lops. Sometimes they are folded
like an unfruled fan. and are caught
flat against the crown back. Usu
ally the trimming, fastened on this
brim revers, surmounts it by sev
eral inches. In the <mse of ostrich
plumes they droop in soft lines over
the top of the crown. When ai
grettes are used they jut out sharp-
Iv over the side-back. Ribbon
trimmings in many instances are
grouped in closely overlapped loops
and placed at the back of the crown,
half concealed by the brim revers.
New collapsible crowns feature a
marked preference for sections.
Many of these sections, sometimes
as many as twenty, are seen. They
are made of two contrasting mate
rials.
“Paul Polret, like all other great
designers, Is stslll partial to felt,
both for making and trimming
hats. These are a tremendous con
trast to his elaborately draped and
garnished Oriental and otherwise
exotic designs in turbans and hats,
but they are truly Poiret in char
acter. His latest idea is to trim
felt hats with cut-out convention
al designs in contrasting tones.
Theso he applies wilth a close but
tonhole stitch encasing a tiny metal
cord.
“Hats made of twine constitute
one of tho latest novelties. The
string is split and worked in such a
manner that the finished article re
sembles fluffy felt. It is, of course,
much lighter, and comes in various
beautiful shades, with a binding to
match.”
