which took place at South End ceme
tery. Mr. Adams wa* a pioneer citi
sen of Bamberg coming here during
the Civil War. and many article* of
those stirring times contributed by
him to newspapers were of lively in
terest. Mr Adam* was a member
of th* Methodist church. He was a
splendid gentleman of the chlvalric
old school type and was held in warm
regard by his wide circle of friend*
and acquaintances.

tion show that Davis carried the two,
notwithstanding there were rumors
out before the count was given that

White, 63, United States marine
corps, retired, died in a local hos
pital hospital here early Friday of
injuries sustained Wednesday eve
ning when his car left the Reids
ville highway near Danville and
plunged over an embankment. Mrs.
White, severly injured in the
wreck, is still in the hospital suf
fering from cuts about the throat.
