ADVENTURES
of the TWINS
By Olive Roberts Barton
"Oh, I beg your pardon, Mister Crow,” said Mrs. Goose. “I thought you
had gone.”
The white crow left the Twins
and Mister Pirn Pim sitting on the
front porch of the House-That
nest on the highest mountain in
Jack-Built and flew away to his
the world.
There he waited until he heard
the whirr and the swish that meant
that Mother Goose was coming on
her broom.
“Oh. I beg your pardon, Mister
Crow.” said Mrs. Goose. “I thought
you had gone. I'll come back and
sweep out your room and make
your bed a little later.”
"Why, I was waiting to see you
just on purpose,” said tho white
crow "I want to sit on your
broom and take a trip over the
world. I fly too slowly and there
is need of haste.”
"How now!” cried Mother Goose.
“What's the trouble?"
"Strange as it may seem, Mrs.
Goose,” said the crow, "I am look

At first Jack decided to slip down off of the toadstool. Then he
changed his mind and decided to hang on just to see where it would
take him. Surely, he thought, I can only go up as far as the cellng. But,
much to hla surprise, when ho got that far tho celling opened up. (Con
