bers of a recently organized firm have
made application for charter for the
Gavin Manufacturing company, cap

creasing the same to $25,000.
A factory will he built In Augusta.
The company proposes to manufac
ture cotton goods, with hosiery as a
specialty. Their plant will be thor
oughly up to date and well equipped.

the forest fires was responsible for a
collision on the New York Central at
Tower 25. just west of Little Kails,
early today.
Passenger train No. 21 was caught,
by mail train No. IP, both west hound,
and both trains so damaged that a
wrecking train had to be sent out
from tills City. One mall clerk was
killed and the crew on that train
bruised and hurt, but the passengers
mi train No. 2l escaped with a bad
shaking tip.
