Samuel Auspitz in the hallway of 131 West 130th street on June 7. The Blackwell Island hospital physicians reported mother and boy to be doing well. Distilled water. Barrett anti Mr. Ay cock Stood Bond for Mail Carrier Who Did Not Serve. U. S. Marshal Murray returned Thursday from Wilkes county, where he served a levy on 630 acres of land owned by W. G. Barett and H. L. Aycock. They are heing sued by tho government for $1,400, .as the result of forfeiture of bond given by them for a mail-carrier named Evans, sev eral years ago. The case Is an old one. quite unu sual and interesting. Barrett and Ay cock went on Evan's bond, to ride a star mail route in Wilkes county. It appears that the department exper ienced great difficulty in transport ing the mail, as Evans either didn't like the route or found a better Jc>h. At any rate, he never served as car rier. THE AUGUSTA HERALD I DISTILLERY IMS RAIDED REAR BLYTHE The illicit distillery of W. C. Sell ars. seven miles west of Bytho, was raided and destroyed Thursday after noon by Deputy U. S. Marshal Mur ray. Sellars was arrested and brought to Augusta. He was granted a temporary bond Thursday, and will appear before Commissioner Godwin Friday affernon at 3:80 o'clock for a preliminary hearing. Sellar's still was about one half a mile from his house Murray went down without a fellow-officer, and ap proached the plaoe quite unexpected iy. Leaning against a tree near the •'worm' was a double-barreled shot gun. but Sellars didn't make trouble, submitting quietly to arrest. Marshal Murray procured an axe and out up distillery, worm and para phernalia. WILSON AND MORAN UP FOR STEALING Had a Large Cartoon of Tobacco That They Stole From a Store. Tom Wilson and Ed. Moran, the no groes who were given SIOO. . or 90 days by Judge Picquet the other day for loitering, were before him again Friday morning, charged with larceny from the house. The men when caught had a large cartoon of tobacco, which lliey said they had received from the railroad in payment for their work. Griff Walker, a white man. was given $2.30 or 3 days for violation of the 460th section.
