Of very special interest to Augusta
friends was the marriage on Wednes
day of Miss Fannie Dorn, of Parks
ville, S. C., and Dr. James Dobey, of
Johnston, S. C., which was solemnized
at the Baptist church in ParksviUc,
the capacity of the pretty church be
ing taxed to accommodate the large
throng of friends in Attendance. The
wedding oeured at noon, the church
being darkened and artificially light
ed elaborate in its decorations of
palms, ferns and trailing bamboo with
quantities of spicy golden-rod which
added much to tho brilliancy of tho
church.

After the ceremony the bride
changed her bridal gown for a travel
ing suit, of blue with which was worn
a hat of blue, and other dress acces
sories to correspond, and Dr. and
Mrs. Dobey left for a brief bridal trip,
returning today to Josnston where
i they will make then- home.
Mrs. Dobey is the second duughter
of Mr. and Mrs. L. F. Dorn and en
joys a delightful popularity wherever
1 she is known.
Dr. Dobey the only son of Mr. H.
| W. Dobey of Johnston, and for a while
made this city his home, establishing
himself as a great, favorite with all
who knew him. He is a successful
young dentist and has already built
up a fine prtictlce in his home city.

Inga of the Wednesday afternoon club
was held at the home of Mrs. .1. If
Chandler last Wednesday. The home
was brightly and nrtiatleally decorated
| with golden rod and tinted autumn
leaves. Dominoes were played at four
[prettily appointed tables. The prize,
a handsome head uecklace, went to
Mrs. J. O. Oelse, who with Miss Madge
McLeod cut for 11, the two receiving
the same number of punches. The
score cards were very unique, having

to Miss Hara Oelse.
