TRUSTEES ARE NOW
VISITING SCHOOLS
The trustees of the public schools
of the county have been making their
semi-annual round this week. The
trustees of the Houghton, the Cen
tral, the Davidson and the colored
schools have already visited those
schools and the trustees were accom
panied by Supt. Lawton B. Evans and
President. James L. Fleming. The
trustees are delighted with the
schools and they are high in their
praise of the way the work has been
carried on.
The trustees of the John Milledge
school will visit the Woodlawn school
Friday. Next week the Augusta Free
School and the Mauge Street (color
ed) school will be visited.
If you have an advertising contract with The Her
ald, do you know that it is becoming more and more
valuable each day, judged from the standpoint of in
creasing circulation as more and more people read
The Herald each day.
This is the steady, quiet persistent growth in value,
that comes from a good investment, whether it is in
real estate, in stocks and bonds, in commercial and
manufacturing enterprises or in Herald publicity.
Here is the record in the city circulation Herald
carrier system during 1909. It shows a nice, steady,
quiet and satisfactory growth all over Augusta.
For the week ending
Jan. I—-net increase in oity carriers .. ..35
Jan. B—net increase in city carriers .. ..54
Jan. 15—net increase in city carriers .. ..16 ,
Jan. 22—net increase in city carriers .. ..46
Jan. 29 —net increase in city carriers .. ..56
Feb. s—net5 —net increase m city carriers .... 48
Feb. 12 —net increase m city carriers .. ..74
Total .. ... 329
In other words here in Augusta your advertising
in The Herald in February has 329 more homes and
and firesides to visit each afternoon and on Sunday
•morning than it had the first of the year.
This is your unearned increment, the profit on
your original investment, which shows that an adver
tising contract placed with The Herald has a growing
value.
In addition to the steady increase in the city car
rier system, the out-of-town circulation has shown
even more growth and vitality and the combined
totals will show an increasing ratio in the rise in
value of all advertising contracts in The Herald.
