FIREMEN TO WEAR
SAME UNIFORMS
The Fire Committee of Council
held a meeting Friday at noon. The
committee is unable to decide on any
improvements or changes until their
appropriation is made, and very little
business was transacted. Some of the
men asked the metropolitan blue uni
form be changed to a blue serge. The
I committee decided to keep the same
uniform.
ASK INFORMATION ON
OKRA PAPER MAKING
Many Capitalists Interest
ed in the Work Proposed
in Macon.
MACON, Ga —Since the papers of
Georgia a few days ago published ac
counts of the excellent results that
were met in experiments with okra
as a substitute for wood pulp the Ma
con Chamber of Commerce has been
plied with requests for Information.
A dozen or more prominent busi
j ness men in other states have been
! interested and are willing to enter
into a company to promote the man
1 ufacture of paper from okra. Mr. Jno
I T. Moore, who will be at the head ot
I the company, unless he sells his pat
ient is keeping still.
AT THE ARCADIUM.
How does he do it? How does
he manage to manipulate two cor
nets at one and the same time and
make the instruments play two parts
of an air in a perfectly smooth and
correct manner?
These questions are asked in refer
ence to Mr. Bingham of the Bingham
and Gable team, playing an engage
ment this week at the Arcadium thea
tre. The only answer is; Native tal
ent and a world of conscientious
study and practice. Mr. Bingham’s
feat is truly remarkable. He plays
his two comets simultaneously in a
manner that, if you did not see* with
your own eyes, you’d vow the playing j
was done by two performers. The
theory that the instruments were
specially constructed will not be sus
tained, since Mr. Bingham offers to
play and to accomplish the bame on
any two ordinary 11 flat cornets you
might bring him.
The Bingham and Gable team is I
musical to the core. Thero is in-1
strinsic value in their playing, fully
appreciated by lovers of instrumental
music. Before their engagement I
reaches a close Saturday night all j
who can should visit the Arcadium j
and hear this pair play. They are
easily among the headliners in the
vaudeville field.
Some beautiful moving pictures are
shown this week at the Arcadium—
“the people's amusement place.”
OFFiCEiIS FOB TRIP
ELECTED BY IBE
AdEI BOYS
The Richmond Academy boys held
a meeting Thursday afternoon and
elected officers for the trip to Wash
ington. The officers are as follows:
Warren Both well, president.
Roy Cooper, secretary.
George Howard, treasurer.
Twenty-five boys have signified
their willingness to go to Washing- i
ton and pay their own way. The boys :
will bring their money to (he treas- j
urer, so the car can be ordered. The
boys will go on the same train with I
the Richmond Hussars.
The Richmond Hussars have se
cured enough money to insure the
sending of part of the troop and the
committes will keep at work and
hopes to raise enough money to send
the full troop. The committees will
continue soliciting Friday and Satur
day. The Hussars drilled Thursday
night with the sabres and they made
a very fine showing.
The Veterans are making their
preparations and the committee is at
work soliciting funds. Over half of
the required amount has been se
cured and the Veterans will surely
make the trip. Chairman Phiipot, of
the committee, says that he is re
ceiving donations by mail and tele
phone. He proposes to publish a full
list of donations after the canvass is
finished.
The Man Who
Eats Wei!
And Enjoys Food Lives Life as He
Should and Gets the Most
From It.
The man who eats i« the man who
works, and the man who works is
the man who wins. Tireless work
ers depend upon a storehouse of vim
and vigor. India is noted for its
fasters and its dreamers, Europe and
America for their eaters and their
workers.
In America we have been doing
nothing but work this past quarter
of a century. That is why our old
men say, "In my days no one had
dyspepsia.” Of course,-all men in
those days ate and worked, now they
work aOS eat.
If eating interferes with business,
men give up eating. This is good
logic for the dollar-getter, but poor
wisdom for the man who really wants
to live.
Abuse of anything God given results
in punishment, and man is a pigmy
when it comes to cheating his sys
tem.
If you take from the system that
which is intended should remain, or
put into it that which is intended
should be kept out, you are cheating
your self, and sooner or later pay
the penalty.
Stuart’s Dyspepsia Tablets are con
centrated vegetable and fruit es
sences which give the system every
fluid, stimulant and ingredient, ne
cessary to gain the fullest strength
from everything which goes Into the
stomach, or to keep from the system
everything which should not lay and
decay in it.
K you will eat. fast and improper
ly, you will drink and eat irregu
larly and to excess, then give to Na
ture as you do so enough of the
essences she demands to neutralize
the bad effects of your habits.
After a meal take a Stuart Dys
pepsia Tablet., and the meal won't
hurt you or your stomach.
At a midnight dinner fake a Stu
art tablet and you will sleep well and
get. up without a breath which is fill
ed with the decay of the midnight
meal.
Fortify your stomach like you do
your business. Fortunes when lost
can be regained, but the stomach out
raged stays with you to the finish,
and you know it Is there.
If you want to know what these
tablets will do, buy a package from
any druggist, price 50 cents, or send
us your name and address and we
will send you a trial package free my
mail. Address F. A. Stuart Co., 150
