COOLER WEATHER
TO FOLLOW RAIN
Forecaster Fisber Predicts
Drop in Temperature For
Friday Night and Satur
day.
The moderate temperatures of the
! past twenty-four hours are doomed
to pass away with the clouds that
have been shedding rain over Augus
ta for the morning hours. The fore
cast of Mr. Fisher is for fair an£ cool
er tonight and Saturday. The de
pression that overlies the Atlantic
states is passing off and will be suc
ceeded by a moderately high pressure
from the West that will send the
clouds scudding over the ocean and
bring colder temperatures in its wake.
Nothing extreme is expected but
just such a cooling as ordinarily fol
lows heavy rains at this season of
the year. There were rains over near
ly all the country east of the Mississ
ippi last night and this morning. The
weather bureau has received no in
formation that there were any down
pours in the Savannah Valley water
shed so there is no reason to appre
hend any material rise of the river.
The guage at the wharf this morning
showed a height of 13.8 feet a fall
of aobut a foot and a half in twenty
four hours.
—The many frineds of Miss Sarah
Spang Miller, who was operated on
yesterday In Philadelphia for appen
dicitis, will be greatly relieved to
learn that a telegram received today
announces her satisfactory condition.

A FIXED VALUE
Is probably one of the most Important advantages of a savings account
here as compared with stocks and bonds, which fluctuate up and down
according to financial conditions and with the manipulations of the stock
markets.
When you need your savings you do not want to have to sell them
at a sacrifice and if you invest them in this Bank you will not even
have to consider such a possibility, for an account here always has a
fixed value, which ia aU that you have paid in and the credited Interest
at four per cent.
