VALENTINE PARTY.
One of the most enjoyable occasions
of the past week was the Valentine
party with which Miss Ruth Holliman
entertained a few of her friends on
Monday evening at her home on Walker
street.
The color scheme of red and whit 6
was most effectively carried out, the
parlor being decorated with white and
crimson hearts. The guests were most
charmingly entertained fr<sm 9 to 11, the
fortune telling and the clover contest
being the most interesting features of
the evening.
Miss Swedenberg and Dr. Woolen
proved themselves to be the most capa
ble by giving the highest number of
correct answers in the flower contest,
and were presented with the prize, a
beautiful Valentine, while Mrs. Mason
and Mrs. Swedenberg fell heir to the
booby. Miss Nina Powell received an
exquisite hand embroidered pin-cushion
for being the most expert with the ar-

Mr. Bruce Young
Very guiet, yet very sweet, and im
pressive, was the marriage yesterday
afternoon ol’ Miss Leona Lawrence
and Mr. Bruce Young, which oc
curred at half after five o'clock at The
Albion hotel, the Rev. Father Lonor
gan officiating and the ceremony be
ing attended by the family connec
tions and a few friends only. The
bride was attended by her sister, Miss
Frances Lawrence and the groom’s
best man was his brother, Mr. Jack
Young. The bride, who is a ! hand
some blonde, wore a stunning coat
suit of pale green chiffon broud
celved by Mrs. Htearnes, who worn a
princess gown of black satin with yoke
and close fitting sleeves of sliver
spangled laoe. The tea table, which was
very charming in its adornments of daf
fodils, was presided over by Mrs. Percy
Burum and Mrs. Htllson Kuchins. Mrs.
Burum wore a soft white lingerie gown
with a large black bat, and Mrs. Huoh-
Ins wore a gown of bisque cloth and a
large blue hat. laden with blue plumes.
In the bridge game the prizes were
awarded to Mrs. Robert Innes, Mrs.
Henry Cohen, Mrs. Kuhne, Mrs. Osgood
and Mrs. Morris.
