Monday Single Seat Sale Will
Begin. Season Tickets Are
Transferable.
Tomorrow will be the last day in
which to get season tickets for the
Music Festival. On Monday the single
seat sale will commence, at which
time no season tlcketts can be ob
tained. If will be a great advantage
to get season tickets as they are
transferable, and the admittance to
the three concerts will be more than
to two concerts, when single seat tick
ets are bought. A very large num
ber of tickets have been disposed of,
the sale today exceeding all expecta
tions, but there are yet some choice
seats left and those who anticipate get-

The "Golden J-egend” adapted from
the poem of Longfellow, by Joseph
Bennett and set to music by Arthur
Sullivan, will he sung on Monday even
ing, the opening concert, by the
grand opera stars, Miss Florence
Hinkle, soprano; Miss Christine Mil
ler, contralto; Mr. Albert Quesnel,
tenor and Mr. Arthur Middleton, bas
so, and the local adult chorus of two
hundred voices. The "Golden Leg
end" Is protrayed In six scenes, in
which the artists have splendid oppor
tunity to use their voices. The chorus
also comes in for a great amount, of
w r ork, and are magnificently trained
for their part of the difficult progrom.
The Tuesday afternoon and Tues
day evening programs, while of an en
tirely dij/erent nature from the pre
frain, will be of the opening concert
| equally as good, and music lovers will
! not fall to obtain season tickets while
the chance is yet open, thus making
j it possible to attend each of the splen
did concerts.
LID OFF BOXING GAME.
Jefferson City, Mo,—The lid on the
boxing game which has been nailed
down for years here, was pried loose
last night when two contests were
fought. An organized club presented
the show and there was no Interfer
ence by officers.

this show, the promoters are making
plans for others in the near future.

sury, at New York died In Uilh city at
6:30 o’clock this morning. Ills son,
L. M. Terry, of Charleston H. C. wtt,s

which has been expected dally for two
week. Mr. Terry came to Aiken sev
eral weeks ago from Florida, In a very
critical condition. He died at the York
House, being moved from the Bark In
Bines, which closed several days ago.
The remains will be carried to his late
home In New York city this afternoon
accompanied by bis son, be was at
tended here by Dr. McGrogor, the
Bark in the Bines hotel physician and
Dr. Huger T. Hall, a resident phy
sician.

dinner was very elaborate, and good
humor abounded.
The guests arrived at S o’eloek,
Judge George Prince being a guest of
honor. After a social hour, the guest*
were Invited Into the dining room,
where a round banquet table bad be<n
prepared, around which the guest*
were seated. At each place there was
a dainty hand painted card bearing
the name of one guest. The table was
beautifully decorated with flowers
