Kelly’s customers are known by their individuality of dress—not by their
sameness of costume. A shrewd friend of ours said to us: Stick to those prin
ciples but don’t advertise it; the other fellow will copy you. We had thought
of that, too, but if we can effect such a reform in Augusta we will feel that we
know the advantages of all wool tailored goods, ask your father, brother' or your young
man friend. Few men but that have had the sad experience of having a suit with cotton in
it. Ours are all wool.

SEAS. WRIGHT TAKES A SHOT
AT PLAIN DICK RUSSELL.
Scab. Wright Is after Dick Russell.
He says In part: "Never l n a south
ern state has been presented before
ihe spectacle of a Judge of the state's
highest court etanding between an
organized band of criminals who ‘flag
rantly violate the law' and the sacred
law of his state, with his hands out

source of 'hypocrisy and lying.’ ”
THE DALTON CITIZEN DECLARES
IT IS TAKING NO STAND IN
GOVERNOR’S RACE.
The Citizen is taking no stand with
reference to the gubernatorial situa
tion, but It can’t fall to notice some
things.
Ke told the people how he was de
flated for governor the last time, and
sharply criticised Hoke Smith and his
following. What does Little Joe hope
lo accomplish by such methods? Is
It possible he Is taking advice from
Tom Watson? From the way he goes
after Hoke tfmlth It would seem so.
It seems that Little Joe would want
to get away from how it all happened
In the past, since It, Is so apparent
that his vote has been merely the
vote that was bitterly opposed to
Governor Smith, and not a real Brown
vote.

A BETTER TONE IN BUSINESS
“There Is a belter tone ln business
throughout the country, which will
sound a still more optimistic note when
the crops have all been harvested and
shipped and the money returned to the
natural channels of trade.” The state
ment whs made ln Seattle by Join M.
Hannaford of St. Paul, second vice
president of the Northern Pacific Rail
road company. II Is the cheerful and
the correct view.
Really, there Isn't anything the mat
ter with this country. There hnsn't
been anything the matter with America
since 1007. Recovery from the period
of mild depression ushered in upon
the country four years ago has not
been as rapid as it should have been;
hut there has been steady progress
toward a return to norjrml and whole
some conditions. Except for political
agitation conditions now would have
been entirely satisfactory, and If now
we could Induce the people to forget
that a presidential election Is to be
held next year business would go
ahead with a rush.
Candidly, what difference does It.
make If w arc to have an election |
next year? None whatever. The
American people are not going lo fleer
any man or set of men who would
want to tear down the government, up- :
set our industrial system and throw us
Into a. condition of civil and social
chaos. No such mistake has ever
been made by the sober electors of,
this country, and It is not likely that,
any such mistake ever will be made.
The fear of elections in this country ;
is an Obsession. The thing to do at ■
this time, so far as the business of
this country Is concerned. Is to forget
polities, and go right ahead without
