The stage coach is used tor the entrance of the small heroine of the i comedy, Rebecca herself, when she I comes to make her home with the jaustre and trim old maids, her moth jer’s sisters, whose cold hearts the 'sun shine and warmth of Rebecca’s nature finally melts. “Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm" is a dramatization |by Kate Douglas Wiggin and Char lotte Thompson of Mrs. Wiggin’s I stories of the New England child, Re ' becca Rowena Randall. It had a run jof a year in New York at David Bel asco’s Republic Theater and was I taken to the hearts of the New Eng landers during a six months stay in Boston at the Treniont Theater. Now, that may appear to be stretching it a little, but I this show packed the busy Bijou in Savannah at every performance for the first three days of this week, and 11. Is safe to say that It will pack the popular Bijou here at each perform ance. The bill consists of a variety of acts, and from a glance at the pro gram glve n below, it is a very prom ising show. The program will be as follows: The Bijougraph, presenting a new De Luxe photo-play with a si long cast of motion picture artists. Billy Baron, musical Inclined, will no doubt be a sensation with a new novelty 'muselal act. Zeno and Madel, com jedy pianists, were one of the features j in Savannah, and their success here ! will no doubt be as great. The Three | Nevaros, a sensational European I novelty acrobatic act, will be the fea ture of this show; they come highly endorsed, and it is said that ihev jhave the best act now in vaudeville jot' their kind. ATHENS MURDERER TRIED IN AN HOUR AND A HALF 1 Athens.— llezekiah Stevens, a nesro, was tried Tuesday eveninsr for the | murder of his wife and was found kuilty. The trial lasted only an hour ! .Mid a half and the Jury was out only j thirty minutes. Ga. —The latest reports from Danielsville, where Claude Darnell is confined in jail for the killing of his father, W. P. Darnell, are to the ef fect that the young boy pleads self defense as the reason for the killing. He states that his father was at tempting his life, that he had abused his mother, whipped the smaller chil dren in the family, and choked him, and that the shooting was done in de fense of his own life.
