NCENDIARIES WORK ON
OLD ROOSEVELT HOME
Atlanta, Ga.—Mysterious Incendia
ries took advantage of the little door
through which cats went In and out
of the kitchen, Jo set fire to Bulloch
hall, the famous old ancestral Roose
velt home at Roswell, just above At
lanta last night. .
The flames failed to take hold of the
woodwork, however, and the house was
saved. Mrs. W. E. Baker, who lives
in the house, and who would in all
probability have perished If the plan
had succeeded, knew nothing about the
attempt until this morning.
Newspapers saturated In oil had
been plied inside a square opening cut
for cats, in the back door, and a tal
low candle had been lit and set In the
midst of the papers. The door caught
fire and burned but for some unex
plained reason the adjacent woodwork
failed to catch fire.
The little town of Roswell has been
thrown Into consternation and amaze
ment by the attempted crime, for
which no possitde reason can be as
signed.
The police are inclined to think it
was the work of some maniac who
perhaps hates the name of Roosevelt —
some men of the same type as he who
shot the colonel in the West.
NEW FEDERAL LEAGUE
MOGULS MEET TODAY
FOR FINAL PLANS
Chicago.—Owners and managers of
the Federal League gathered here to
discuss plans for the coming season
and to arrange their final campaign
for the signing of major league base
ball players. Several players said to
be considering Federal League offers
were expected to confer with the man
agers of the various clubs.
One object of the meeting 1s to
avoid the confusion brought about by
the different club managers compet
ing for players not yet signed. Major
league players who are still eligible
probably will be apportioned to the
"different clubs.

Linn, W. Va.—“ There is no doubt
but that my life was saved by the use
of Cardui, the woman’s tonic,” says
Mrs. Abbie Shackleford, of this town.
“Before using Cardui, I was very bad
off—would have nervous and shaking
spells through my entire body, terrible
sick headaches, and would find my
self gasping for breath. I often thought
during those trying times that it would
be sweet to die.
I took many different medicines and
treatments, but they di.d me no good. I
got weaker and weaker every day.
Finally, I decided to try Cardui and
got two bottles. I was certainly great
ly surprised to note the quick change
for the better, after taking only one
third of the first bottle. The shaky
spells and sick headache have entirely
disappeared. Can now walk one mile
to c-hurch and hack, and not feel tired.
Cardui also proved a blessing to my
oldest daughter. Everyone ' thought
she had appendicitis, on account of a
bad pain In her side, but Cardui
brought her back to good health.
I will never be without Cardui in
the house.”
Cardui will surely do for you, what
It has done for so many thousands of
other women. It will help you.
