he would again have a hearing in the
matter and probably name a receiver
at that time.
There were a number of names sug
gested for receiver, but the matter of
selecting one is so important it was
deemed wise by the court, after lis
tening to the attorneys, to wait a
few days before making the selection.
Attorney General Felder was pres
ent at the conference on behalf of
the state. In the courtroom were a
considerable number of people who
have money tied up in the Irish
American Bank.

At The Grand
NAZIMOVA IN “BELLA DONNA.”
Theatergoers appear to experience
considerable difficulty In the pro
nunciation of the name of the Rus
sian actress, Madame Nazlmova. It
Is really very simple. Madame her
self pronounces her name as though
It were spelled, “Nah-zeem-o-zah,”
with the accent on the second syl
lable. And Nazlmova was born in
the city of Yalta, on the shores of the
Black Sea in the Russian Crimea. If
the actress were a man she would be
"Nazimoff.” but being a woman, she
uses the Russian feminine derivation
"Va” for the “Muff” Is masculine.
This is the ninth season Nazlmova
has been before American theater
goers as an English speaking actress,
during which time she has played
“Hedda Gabler,” “A Doll's House,”
Countess Coquette,” "The Master
Builder,” “Little Eyoif," “The Com
et,” “The Passion Flower,” The
Oeher Mary,” “The Marionettes” and
now "Bella Donna.” Bella Donna'
her preant play is an adaptation cf
Robert Hichens’ novel of the same
name and while her role is utterly
unsympathetic the actress presents
this abormally bad woman la a man
ner ehat is distinctly fascinating.
Madame Nazlmova comes to the
Grand this evening.

Monday, matinee and evening, with
dainty little Elsie St. Leon in the

“Polly of the Circus” Is even more
fascinating.
