SCHMIDT SAKS
1 AM SATISFIED'
Former Priest to Be Sentenced
to Electric Chair Tomorrow.
Wants No Appeal.
New York.—Mans Schmblt, convict
prf yesterday of the mrder of Anna
\umul!->r «*;<* seemingly content to
day and declined to permit hla coun
sel to appeal. SYhraldt will be sen
tenced next Wednesday to die In the
electric chair. The verdict rendered
a little more than two hours after
'he jury had retired, seemed a great
relief to the former | rlest, who had
sat through the 12 trial da s as If In
a daze. When the words were spoken
a light came Into Schmidt’s eyes and
he smiled. He seemed to have pre
pared for the verdict. Since Ills ar
rest on September 14th he lias refus
ed to be shaved or to have his hair
cut. He has worn a handker.thief in
lieu of a rol’ar and his appearance
ha sheen unkempt.
Hair Combed First Time.
As he stood before the bar yester
day 10 hear the veidict Schmidt wore
a clean silk handkerchief and (or the
first time since the opening of the
first trial he had combed Ills hair.
Schmidt ate a hearty supper after
his return to the Tombs and Imme
diately afterwards went to bed and
fell into a sound sleep. It was when
he was awakened by his counsel. Al-
Phonre G. Koelble, that he declared
he wanted no appeal.
"! Am Satisfied."
"I am satisfied with the verdict,”
said Schmidt. “I would rather die
today than tomorrow. 1 notify you
that I do not wish you to appear fur
ther in my behalf and that 1 will not
In any way assist you if you try to
take the case to a higher court. T
would do nothing to prevent the fate
that I know awaits me.”
Horrible Crime.
The murder of Anna Aumulier was
one of the most horrifying in New
York's crime history. Schmidt was
a .priest attached to St. Joseph's
Church. He took the girl to a flat
he had fitted up. He confessed that
on the morning of September 2d last
he went to the house and while she
slept cut her throat, then dismem
bered her body, cutting it into nine
parts. There he disposed of in the
Hudson River.

A Little Stuart’s Dyspepsia Tablet
Will Aid Your Exhausted Stomach
to Digest Any Meal.
Isn’t it a real Joy to see children
eat? There is almost a ridiculous hu
mor about it. The same joy that a
child feels at meal time should be ex
perienced by “grown ups" and would
be if they would only do as children
do.
The work, worries and woes of adult
life exhaust the digestive apparatus
and nature very often Is not allowed
time or opportunity to renew or re
pair the exhausted organs and de
pleted digestive Juices.
"Well Whata You Think o’ a Big

A Stuart s tablet goes Into the stom
ach like food. It contains nothing
but natural digestive elements and
when at work In a weak stomach It
aids the worn-out gastric glands, sup
lilies the right mixture of stomach
Juices and under the action of the
stomach It thoroughly permeates all
the food. Thus wTien the stomach
work is done the meal goes Into the
small Intestines In better shape to bo
assimilated by the system.
One element of Ktuurt’s Dyspepsia
Tablets Is so strong and efficient that
j one, grain of it will digest 3,000 grains
!of mixed food such as rr"ats, vege

The simple habit of eating a Stuart's
