Mrs. Gresham of Waynesboro, who is visiting her sister, Mrs. T. C. Par ker, in Macon, has been entertained in a number of pretty Arays during her visit. The Macon News of yesterday says of one of the affairs; A beautiful affair of the afternoon was the reception with which Mrs. T. C. Parker, Jr., entertained in compli ment to her sister, Mrs. E. G. Gresh am of Waynesboro. The pretty home was decorated throughout with V profusion of spring flowers and growing plants. Mrs. William Marshall, in a pretty afternoon toiletto of turquois blue chafmeuse, and Mrs. J. I>. Crump, wearing a gown of lavender taffeta and lace, poured tea, while little Miss es Mary and Inez Derry, in dainty frocks of white lace, assisted in serv ing. Miss Elizabeth Solomon, Miss Marie Fowler and Mrs. J. K. Burns served the refreshments, and little Miss Lena Khewmake Gresham, in a pretty party frock of white lingerie and blue rlh bons, received the cards. In the receiving party wdth Mrs. Parker were Mrs. Gresham, Mrs. Ross Chambers, Mrs. George S. Derry, Mrs. T. M. Wheless. Mrs. Parker was gowned in a lovely creation of lace and Irish crochet, with which she wore a corsage bouquet of sweet peas and lilies of the valley. Mrs. Greshtfm wore a handsome gown of white brocaded satin and princess lace with a corsage of pink carnations. Mrs. Ross Chambers was handsome in a gown of white brocaded charmeusc with trimmings of lace and pearls. Mrs. Derry’s pretty gown was of blue charmguse and lace. PHILOMATHIC CLUB. The Phllomathic Club held a most Interesting meeting yesterday after noon and the following program was carried out: Subject, “The English DTama of To day.” "Problem Plays Portrayed by Plners" by Mrs. Brenner. Mrs. 11. C. Humphries of Chicago, Mrs. Ralph Wilson’s guest, was com plimented by her hostess with a charmingly informal little afternoon tea Monday. The parlors were adorned with a profusion of lovely spring blos soms placed with charming effect throughout the rooms In a coloi scheme of pink. The tea table was covered with a delicate cloth of Jap anese embroidery and had for a center piece a silver vase filled with pink carnations. Pink shaded candles were used in silver candelabra, and stiver trays held dainty pink bonbons. Tho chandelier above was enveloped in a rosy mist of tulle through which the soft light streamed over the pretty scene. During the afternoon there were many callers who enjoyed not only the delightful affair but also the pleasure of meeting such a charming woman as is Mrs. Humphries. IN HONOR OF MISS SCHLORER. Miss Amelia Hchlorer of Camden, N. J., who is visiting iter aunt, Mrs. Glanders, was the guest of honor at a delightful bridge party given Tuesday evening by Mr. and Mrs. Bert Tull, In the Zachry home on upper green street. The spacious parlors given over trt the players were beautifully adorned with spring flowers and at the conclulon of the game delicious re freshments were served the guests. The high score prizes, a handsome vase of hammered brass arid a brass ash tray, were awarded to Miss Kath erine Glanders and Mr. J. J. Roesel, and the consolation was cut by Mr. Stephen Cook. The guest of honor was given a pretty silver shoe button book as a souvenir of the pleasant oc casion.
