A small sized epidemic of chick¬

There is not a better locality in

Wayne County, and we trust they
will not lose sight of this fact.

Our farmers are very busy
making preparations for planting,
which indicates that they are in¬
terested in raising home supplies,
we ti ust less cotton.
We are in hopes that Wayne
county will be rcpieeented at the
convention of cotton growers,
which has been invited to meet
in Augusta, Georgia, on March the
16th, to consider the reduction of
the acreage in cotton.
The agricultural imports for

Let Us go back to first principles.
Each man build up his own home,
his own community, his own state,
his own country and government.
Mr. I W. Purdorn is absent from
our village for a few days.
Mr, J. O. Purdoin of Offerman
was on our streets Saturday, ind
we are glad that Mr. Purdorn will
in the near future build and re¬
move to our village.
Mr. J, H. Walker and J. A.
Hilton have each been on the sick
list, but we are glad to note that
both of them are convalescent.
Mr, .James Williams, our consta
hie, has been afflicted with the la
grippe. However, it does not affect
his sides at the regular hour.
Now, 1 wish to say to some of
oui lads, not to get discouraged,
even though she did say you need
not come any more. IVly sympathy
is always in favor of the women of
the land, nevertheless, they have
their failings, as the men do.
Some of them can talk us sweet as
peaches and cream to the person
she hates. Six of them can talk
at once and get along first rate.
Seme of them can be as cool as a
cucumber in half a dozen tight
dresses and skirts, while a man
will sweat and fume and growl
under ordinary circumstances.
Generally our good women do more
and do it better, than the men do
under the same circumstances.
So good luck to the women.

and was recently affirmed by r the
supreme court.
Chapman was convicted for sel
ling Jamaica ginger which, he

There are three other ('uses on
j the docket here similar to '.he
Chapman case. The defendants

Tallest of Womankind.
Miss Ella Ewing the giantess, is
described as beautiful, amiable,
and wonderfully affectionate;
which is fortunate, as she is nine

At home she is said to be ad
