«e«9VAYNE SUPERIOR
COURT CONVENED
Judge C. B. Conyers of Bruns¬
wick opened his first term of
Court in Wayne on last Monday
morning, and delivered an un
usually adle charge to the grand
jury. The charge showed much
thought and preparation. Bv the
unusually fair and able manner in
which the new Judge lias conduct
ea bis court, thus far lie has
sprang into instant popularity.
On account of the fact of his
former asaosciation with Judge
Jos. W. Bennett many cases on
Ihb dccket had to bo posponed
the fourth Monday in May
which time an adjourned terra

attorneys at this term of Wayne
Superior Court were: Attorneys
Symrars, Whitfield, Dun woody,

more especially in putting clay
the sandy roads above Jesup
they seem to have lost sight
of all of tlioso good citizens liv¬
ing south of Jesup in the vicin¬
ity of Odessa and th«t section.
Gentlemen, the road needs clay
and needs it badly, and these
peop'e rightfully tell ns that they
should not be neglected. No
doubt, the sandiest roads in this
arc between Jesup and

Shriners Have Great
Trip To The Temple
The welcome extended to the
visiting nobles of Jesup at the
city of Now Orleans was of tho
most geniune kind and the faith¬
ful of the tribe who dwell in the
Oasis of Jesup felt their senses
tingled with keen delight at the
vision of beauty which greeted
them on the arrival cf the Cara¬
van. One of the grcate s t hits
during the ceremonies was made
by the i ingers of Moinia Temple
of St. Louis Mo. and tho app¬
lause was deafening when they
sang Dixie,
Too much cannot be said for
the hospitality of the famous old
city and her i»e 0 plo and tho shrin¬
ers well ever remember with feel¬
ing of grate full appreciation the
memberless courtesies which were
heaped upon them.
The long sufforing farmers and
their families who live on the
route between Odossa and Jesup
slionld have the cooperation of
the county Commissioners in re¬
pairing the sandy road which in
some places is over a foot deep.
Awake ! t entlemen and do your
duty.

Messrs. Bill Williams and George

lbs. and the rest of the string
totaled 50 lbs. ‘Bill” is retaing
the championship so it seems a
