Mis J. W. Carnes had a severe at tack of cholera ntorhis Monday. She recovered in a few hours. We learn that a very interesting re vival meeting has been going on at Sulphur Springs. Dr. T. J. Lumpkin has been suf fering for the last few days with rheu matism. He is improving at present. We announce the name of J. W. Brow’ll as a candidate for coroner. Mr. Brown is .veil known over the county and needs no comment. The Trenton hoys and girls that are in attendance at schml nt Sulphur Springs, Ala., came down Maturdav evening for quarterly meeting and re mained till Monday morning. The coming election on restriction is being agitated to a considerable ex tent. It is not developed enough jjyet for us to form a conclusion as to the results. Jacob Green returned from Lexing ton, Rv., last Sunday, where be bad been to carry some sheep for that mar ket. lie reports the market full and dull. Read and consider Prof. Street’s article on Restriction and ihe issues it contains. Our columns ate open to any one who would wish to answer any position lie takes. S. M. Torhett is candidate for cor oner, Mr. Torhett is not known ’exten sively over the county, hut we can vouch for lus being a sober, industri ous and upright man. Lee Cannant known to an extent in this county, was instantly killed on the K. T. and Ya., railroad. He was a brakeman on the road and was struck by the cars passing under a trestle work. Last Thursday night near this place Mr. James Ryan’s house was burned down with nearly all the fm nitute. It was suppose l to have caught from the stove. Several o f ‘ onr citi zens have contributed to bis relief. W e were at Cole City again last Saturday. The indications seetn to he that that district will go very strong for restriction. On top there was tonte complaints for the want of water. We regret that we cannot niton ’ ! the entertainment at Morganville next Saturday night, hut it would l>c om pleasure to render any assistance we can towards obtaining a place of enter tainment for the club at any time they would wish to come to our town. We received a communication on the subject of temperance from Rising Fawn yesterday. We did not pub lish from the fact we had already do voted two columns to tho subject, therefor* wo hope the writer will take no exceptions.
