Washington D. O, March 12.
The tariff bill favored by Mr,
Mills, chairman of the Ways and
Men ns committee , although it lias not
been introduced, has been for some
day* past u subject of much talk and
comment. Ot the 3,000 copies print
ed, not one can be obtained at the
Capitol. On tlie day of its appearance
when only 150 were printed, $5,000
was offered for (he bill. Almost all
our Democratic Representatives and
Senators are foi Mill’s bills. Although
Randall’s bill is a subject of no lit
tle conversion,, it will not detract
from the one mentioned above. All
Randall cares, for is to be called the
author of the next tariff law. He, no
loubt, would except the bill favoied
by the ways and Means, >1 in doing
so, lie only thought he would be
worshiped as the orignator.
