I recieved the following amounts as
school funds for said yeat,
Nine hundred and eighteen dollars
filly six Cents from State s> hool com
mission, six hundred and twenty two
dollars and 75 cents from tax collector,
and sixty dolllats ballance on hand
trom last year making sixteen hun
dred and eleven dollars and twenty
six cents.
Fourteen hundred and two dollars
of this amount tin# paid to teachers
for wh eh I hold ptopet vouches aid
one hnn bed and twelve dollars paid
expenses leaving a ballance of ninety
seven dollars and 20 cents.
The Tax Collector turned over to
me one hundred and lofty five dollars
Poll tax executions, some of which is
in the hands ot the Constable. Most
all of them defaulting poll tax exacun
lions are iusolvant and nothing can

mend that the Ordinal} furnish the

We have sxaincd the jail and supple
ment the report ot the grand jury at
Sept, term 1887, We are are futlier by
the Ordinary that the same will be
cairied into effect as soon as the ma
terial can he procured, and suggest
that the ordinary vecovst the jail.
We find the public privy in bad con
dition and suggest that you reccom
that that'the Orkinaip build a new
one, to contain six privy vaults, ann
water closets, to bo buit as lie deanis
best. We have examined the court
house and found it- in good condition.

be'l, and clothed, and the proper at-,
tentjpn paid to such sanitary measures
as will ten !to keed them iu a healthy
condition, which fact is demonstrated
by the comparatively small amount of
sickness among them. In Use opinion
ot yytir committee, tlie mines where
a large portion ot these convicts are
are worked, are properly ventilated
and every dossible precaution taken
to recure their shfety w hile at labor.
At tho Sising ‘Fawn camp we find
the convicts equally as well cared for,
except as to tliesr sleeping apartments
where god the bed clothing inn very
bad conditio t. We gnd also at this
camp there his been a relatively large
amount if sickness, v.&ich in the jndg
nieut of yom committee, is due, partly
it least, to the uncleanly condition of
the conditson of the bedding and < ir
