There bas been a few shovver3 but not enough to do any good. Oats are the worst off. At present they will not average twelve inches high by taking the entire pountv. In this neighbor hood they will not average six inches. Umass one or two good rains, come they will npt get )iigk enough to out, Wheat is also suffering for wan* of rain and the rust. We hear, a great many com plaints of rust, It has attacked the different varieties of it, but what is known as the “beared” va riety seems to be the least affected, The corn crop is good and some of it is well advanced. On aver age it is good. However, there are several complaint entered against the hud worm. There is not much cotton plant ed, and two hundred bales will not be raised in the entire county. Thrown From a Wagon. Mr. John Long of the lower part of the county, happened to an acci dent that came very near proving serious.
