The Commissioners of Rio town of Trenton do ordain and establish the following by-laws, for the gov ernment of said town and the pre servation of the peace and good or der t hereof, to-wit : See. I.—Anvperson violating any criminal law of the slate of Geor gia, within the corporate limits of said town, shall he arrested by the marshal ahd carried before a quo rum of said board of commission ers, tlierof, who shall hear evidence and if there is a reasonable proba bility that such person or persons is guilty of an offense against the laws of this state he or she shall be required to give bond for his or her appearance at the next* uperi or court of said county or in de fault thereof he conducted to jail as required by the laws of this st ate. Sec 2. —Any person who shall he guilty of quarrelling, riotous, boist erous or disorderly conduct, or us ing obscene or profane language calculated to disturb the peace and quiet of the citizens or contrary to the good morals and decency thereof shall be arrested by the marshal and carried before a quorum of said commissioners, who shall hear evidence and if such persons|s found guilty he or she shall he fined or imprisoned or both at the discreetion of said commissioners; provided that such fine shall not be more than twenty-five dollars and such imprisonment not he more than ten days and shall also pay all cost. ►See 3.—Any person firing a gun, pistol or other fire arms within the corporate limits of said town shall he arrested by the marshal and car ried before three or more of said commissioners and if found guilty by them shall he fined or impris [ ioned as described in the second i section; provided that the ordi nances shall not apply to the dis charge of firearms in such of the fields of the Wilkinson estate, B. F. Pace, J. T. Wooll.right, W . F. Nethery and J. A. Case as may he within the incorporate limits. Sec 4.—Any person guilty of ob structing thepuhlie square or streets now open with wood piles, timbers or any other obstruction shall he arrested by the marshal and if found guilty, before a quorum of said commissioners, shall he pun ished as prescribed in the second section. Sec s.—Any person failing to pay his corporate tax for road and street purposes and refusing to work when summoned by the mar shall shall be punished as pre scribed in the second section of these by-laws. Sec 6.—lt is further ordained that a copy of these ordinances shall he posted at the court house door and the postoffice in said town, and that they shall take ef fect from and after the iOth day of February 1874, Adopted January 31, 1874. Section 7.—lt is further ordained that all circuses and other shows for gain shall, before exhioiti ig the same within the corporate lim its of said town, pay a corporate tax of ten dollars foi each day they exhibit, and that all photograph and daguerraen artist be charged a tax of five dollars per annum, and that all itinerant traiders, auction eers, etc., be charged a tax of five dollars. Section 8. —Tt is further ordained that there shall be no games of base ball og . any other games of ball nor any throwing of any ball within the public square or any street of said town by any person or persons any violation of this or dinance the person or pergons so offending shall each be fined for the first offence one dollar and for the second offence two dollars and fifty cents and incase the fine is not paid such person or persons shall be imprisoned as directed by said board of commissioners. Section 9.—lt is further ordain ed by the board of commissioners that no person or persons shall ride any horse or mule or any other animal upon any side walk in said town of Fronton, nor hitch any horse or mule or any other animal upon any side walk in said town and for any violation of this ordinance the person so offending shall be fined not less than one dollar for the first offense, and not less than two dollars and fifty cents for the second offense, andany per son failing to pay such tine shall be imprisoned for such length of time as the commissioners may direct. Stevens showeth that petitioners desire to be incorporated and made a body corporate and politic unde the laws of Georgia, uudvr the* cor porate name of THIS M W EMAND LAND, COAL, IliON .V Ml M FilC'll lili Hi) The objects of the corporation are pecuniary gain, by means of en gaging in the business of purchas ing and selling lands and mineral interest, mining of coal and iron ore, and flu* manufacture of iron, making and selling coke; and its ■particular business will be to mine iron ore and coal upon any proper ty it may at any time own and I<> sell th<‘ same, and to smelt such iron ore as it may mine or purchase into j>ig iron, and to make into coke such coal as it may mine •or .purchase and for such purposes to erect blast furnaces and coke ovens on i f s property near the town of Littleton in said county of Dade and at such other furnaces and coke ovens as it may build or be come possessed of, and to deliver the same for shipment, and forthis purpose t( build such railroads as may he necessary. And that tin said corporation have power am. authority to engage in the business of rolling pig iron into anv and all grades of manufactured iron and to this end that it may have authority to erect such rolling mills as it ma deem necessaiy to consume { product of ils furnaces and also i lake stock in anv such enterprise that nowor may hereafter exist Petitioners desire to he incorpor ated for the term ot twenty years with the privilege of renewal as of ten as can lx* done under the laws They desire the cm poration to have the power of swing and being sued, to li tve and use a common seal, and to have succession, and to make such by-laws, rules and regulations as it wishes, binding on its members, not inconsistent with the laws of this State and the Lnitod States, and to alter, amend and recind the same at ph asure. That it may have power to receive, rent, lease, purchase and hold such real and personal property as may be necessary for the legitimate purposes of the corporation, or for securing debts to it and to dispose of the same at pleasure. And that if have power to elect such officers, managers, directors or agents as it desires and to do all such acts as are necessary for the legitimate execution ot its power and the carrying out of its purposes. Petitioners have actually and bona fide paid in cash the sum of three hutf|gcd and. ten thousand dollars for end iron lands in Dade county, Georgia, which are now owned by 'petitioners and which petitioners will convey to said corporayt*i as sooi as it, is fowed or wimin a short time there af W'. • Petitioners desire said capital stock of said New England Land, Coal, Iron and Manufacturing com pany to he six hundred thousand dollars divided into shares of one hundred dollars each with the priv ilege of increasing the capital stock to five mil Lon dollars. They desire the chief office and place of business of said corpor ation to be at the town of Little ton, the county of Dade and they desire to mine coal and iron ore and erect furnaces and coke ovens at whath ever place or places it may at any time own lands or coal or iron interests. Petitioners pray that they maybe made a body corporate and politic under the name as aforesaid, and with all the powers and priviligos as aforesaid. That this petition may be recorded by the clerk of the Superior court of said county, and that the same may he publish ed in The Dade County Weekly Times, a public gazette of said county of Dade, once a week for one month, and that afterward the court will pass and order declaring said application granted. Lane be served by the publication of this order in the nows paper where the Legal advertisements of said v r, nnty are published for three months weekly before the next term of said court and it is further ordered by the Court that the Defendant, show cause at the next term of this court why the copy deed set forth in petition should not be established in lieuTif the lost original.
