Mr. Benjaman Biggers and sis _ ter were in town Sunday. Prof. West will not commence school until after christmas. Rev. Thos. Hollis paid Buch auan a visit the first of the week. Mrs. J. S. M. Biggers visit ed relatives near Draketown this week. Mr. J. C. Huckeba, of Tallapoo sa was in town Sunday and Mon day. : ‘ Real estate is changing hands rapidly in Buchanan for the past few weeks. ‘ Dr. Cobb is to have an elegant dwelling erected om Carrollton street at once, ~ The co-operative Alliance store is now open and doing an exten give business. Messrs W. T. Newton and J. H. smith have recently gone to work ~on the railroad. If you want fancy candies and fancy Christmas goods go to Neill & Allmon’s drugstore. Col. and Mrs, N, N. Beall of Embry were visiting relatives in town the first of the week. Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Brooks of Draketewn were the gnests of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Hannah Monday . Tom Kceler keeps the boys around him laughing most of the time, by ecracking his peculiar jokes. . 4 Mr. Bill Shell, the livery man, says he has two fine mares that he will sell or swap for good livery horses. Hearn has been at work in Atlanta for some time aund we learn will move his family to that city in a few days, Mr. W. R. Ault got his foot pret ty badly mashed last Monday by letting a little piece of timber 12 mches sqare fall on it. Head, that of Thos. W. Griffith. Changes will take place about Christmas. Mr. George Cole and Mr.jWill Newton have a telegraph line run ning from the residence of Mr. Cole to the residence of Mr Han xnah, The boys are learning te legraphy. The Tax Collector’s books will be open at Buchanan Dec. 16th, 17th, 18th, 19th and 20th. We regret to chronicle the death of the infant child of Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Holcombe. On awaking last Wednesday mor ning before day they fouud that the child was dead in the bed with them.
