Try your luck in printer’s ink, business men. Col. J. M. McBride, of Tallapoosa, was in town Tuesday. Mr. J. S. Edwards closed out his gin¬ ning business Tuesday. Mr. T. E. Lewis, of Bremen, writes u,-: to send him the Banner-Messenger. The lion. T. W. M. Brown was in town shaking hands with friends the other day. We congratulate our friend Will P. Al¬ len, of Temple, on the birth of his twin daughters. Mr. J. R. Griffith paid Diaketown a vis it Saturday. He says the people of that place are wrestling with the grip. Dr. J. M. Neill has purchased the house Mr. Gus Hilton commenced to erect on Weatlierby street and will move to the same as soon as completed. The Hon. Dr. W. F. Goldin, we learn, has been very sick for the past few days, hut was better when last heard from. Wc hope for him an early recovery. Shell & Yancy seem to be doing a fine livery business these days. They have a branch stable at Kramer and Mr. Yancy is doing a good business at that place. All accounts due Neill & Co. are paya¬ ble to me, and if not settled at once, will be placed in ilie hands of S.L. Craven for collection. G. Y. Cole. The County Alliance held quite an in¬ teresting meeting at Wesley Chapel last Thursday. The attendance was good considering the inclemency of the weath Cl'. We have a genuine case of the “La Grip” in this office. Our foreman lays his bands on all tlie tobacco and cigar retts ho can got and grips them with his teeth for all they are worth. Mr. J. A. Swann, of near Temple, was up to see us "Monday. IIo has bought land and will settle down near the above named place. John is a hard working farmer and a good citizen. Owing to the moving of our office we only get out a half sheet this week. Af¬ ter this week our friends will find us in the Banner’s old office, where we will be glad fo have tin r.i cull oil us. If you have not, got the money to renew your subscription, we will take barter. Bring us some meal, potatoes, dried fruit, eggs, onions, or a few old rails for stove wood, a pig or chickens. My Lord, can’t pay for your paper in none of these “articles.” Mr. J. S. M. Diggers, our efficient clerk and his assistant, Mr. If. C. Head, are very busy this week getting their dockets ready for court. Clerks of superior courts are often the cause of much slow business, but such is not the casein Haralson county. Less than two years ago wliat is now known as Weatlierby street was a dense woodland, but it is now cleared off and some very substantial dwellings have and are being erected thereon; that of Col. M. J. Head being the best, perhaps, in town. Buchanan lias improved considerably in the last two years, but slie will double and tinibic anything she has done in tho next two years. Keep your eye on Buch¬ anan. We are often asked the question, “Won¬ der when the new court house will he built?” We will just state that wo met Judge Davenport on the streets the other day with a hand full of stove piping whereupon lie remarked that he was go¬ ing to make the okl court room as com¬ fortable as possible—that lie thought we would have a new one by next January court. By tills we presume the contract will be let pretty soon. Messrs. John W. Tomlinson and J. W. Long, of Bremen, two of the Banner’s best paying subscribers, came in and re¬ newed their subscription to the Banner Mkssknoeb by paying in advance. We would like to record the names of other good citizens of and around Bremen, and from all other sections of the county on our cash subscription list. Bremen is a portion" of Haralson county and this pa¬ per feels it her duty to equally represent ail portions of tit© county, as she is pub islx d in the interest of the whole county. Prof. West was on tho sick list last week. Tlio Banner Messenger is little, but full of matter this week, Let us all work together for Buchanan and Haralson county. Col. M. J. Head wont down to Carroll¬ ton Monday evening on business. Quito a number of ladies gave us a call yesterday. Wclike to have thorn call. Who struck llillic Patterson? Don’t know, but we do know who struck Geo. <'ole. Undo Ned's lettei received too late for publication this week. It will appear next week. Most of our old officers were re-elected and wc feel safe with tho affairs of our county in their hands. Judge Maddox will hold second week of court, Judge Janes being disqualified, having been Solicitor General. It takes firewood to fill the bill these days. We would ire glad to have a few loads in exchange for the BAXXER-MKS SKNGEIi. Dr. J. M. Neill has purchased a forty acre tract of land lying west of Weather by street and says he will erect a new res¬ idence just beyond the depot. Dr. Cobb was called to the bed side of Mr. J. L. Kelley Tuesday evening. Mr. Kelley has a severe case of measles, and is also threatened with pneumonia fever. Dr. Cobb and lady returned from a vis¬ it to Carrollton Monday. The doctor went down the evening before to meet bis wife who had been spending some days with friends and relatives. Dr. Oscai Bryant, we learn, will locate at Temple after he attends one more ses¬ sion of medical lectures this spring. Dr. Bryant is a fine young man and we would be. glad to have him numbered among Haralson’s citizens. Uncle Aaron Weatlierby, who has been a subscribei to the Bannov from its earli¬ est existence, sent in 7;'r subscription, accompanied with a dollar, to the Ban ner-Messeng Kit this week. Wo would be glad to have all tire old subscribers of the Banner renew for the Banner Messenger in this manner. Preparations for court is being made this week. No place affords better ac¬ commodations for those who have to at¬ tend court than Buchanan. Besides hav¬ ing- two hotels there are a number of hoarding houses. The Loveless Hotel is given up to bo the best in this country,at which place a host of people can be ac¬ commodated. If you want TIIE BEST in LIFE or ac¬ cident Insurance, ATLAS OF THE WOLD or TREASURE HOUSE of Use¬ ful Knowledge, sec or address W.m. Jamison, Jig, Special Ag’t, Buchanan or Tallapoosa, Ga. II;*ppy Women. What is it that makes women more smiling afkl happy looking than men? Wc meet them on the curs, on the streets, in tho couutry, by the seashore, always smiling, teeth a glistening, eyes a danc¬ ing. Ah! the secret is they aim to please. It is an effort in many instances for them to smile, and were it not for them to smile, and were it not for a de¬ sire to look pleasing and pretty many would ‘ never smile again,Why? Be¬ cause in a large majority of instances they don’t feel like smiling. They feel more like crying. With their nervious aches, weakness and bearing down pains, life to them is a burden. What a gold find to many a physicians is a rich sick woqian. Why should lie aim to cure her and deny himself the pleasure of present¬ ing liis bills'with the usual ragularity. It seems from tiie following, that tiie surest and cheapest way for invalid wo¬ men to regain heal tli and strength l‘>. is by using Botanic Blood Balni(B. B.) Mrs. J. A. White, 340 Wythe Street, Petersburg, Va., writes: “I have used B. B. 1>. with happy results, and others have taken it at my advice and are de¬ lighted with its curative results.” J. N. Gregory, Butler Postoffice, S. C. writes: ‘ My wife had been under flic treatment of several good physicians, but confined in poor health, so I bought four bottles of Botanic Blood Balm, and it did her more good than those doctors Rad done her in ten yeai'A She is now doing her own washing, a tiling she had not been able to do for four years.” Cases Set For Trial Next Term of Haralson Superior Court.
