A number of the boys went out to burn
the woods yesterday morning. We don’t,
know how much lire they had, but we do
know they created a considerable smoke.
We would like for that young man who
borrowed money from xis to got hit mar¬

number of days of grace besides.
We notice a number of widows of
Confederate soldiers in town this week.
They are looking after their pensions,

'Col. Shaler was in town Monday mak

we told him that Gol. Edwards had mov

you don’t mean to say that be has turned
his ba-^k on Georgia?” We regretted
very much to toll him that it was certain¬

Mr. G. F. Reid, of Bremen, was here
Monday. Mr. Reid carries an empty
sleeve, the effects of the late war. De¬
spite the loss of his arm, he came back
from the army after many a hard fought
battle, went to work and prospered. We
see lots of men with two arms doing
nothing match, and we would call their
attention to these old one armed veterans
who are at work and making money.
