Why Are You Not A Member of The A1H
limncef
This is a question the Farmers’ Advo¬
cate desires to ask every farmer in Edge
combo county who has not connected
himself with this’organiaation.
The Alliance is seeking to promote and
advance the material interests, and pros¬
perity of the agricultural classes, and
why are you not a member of this pow¬
erful and influential organization.
From our standpoint we think that ev¬
ery man in the county, who is engaged
iu agr iculture, and eligible to member¬
ship, should join tho Alliance if it is not
inconsistent with the teachings of his re¬
ligion.
The members of the Alliance are en¬
gaged in a cause, which, if triumphant,
will bo the means of directly benefiting
all classes and why do you not enlist your
services in this great causa and aid in
restoring agriculture to its proper rank
and dignity among other vocations?
Some will say that tho order has ex¬
tremists in it and for that reason they do
not care to join.
Now, let us ask this simple question.
In every calling iu this life, in every so¬
l ciety or organization arc not such men to
be found? '
The good that the majority of the mem¬
bers do is overlooked, but the evil that
one man does gives rise to their judging
tho whole organization by one, which is
wrong, unfair and unjust,
j No organization could stand the
that some would have it subjected to.
In all earnestness we think that all the
farmers in Edgecombe county, w ho can,
should join the Farmers’ Alliance and
aid in the extension of a cause that is
founded on truth, justice and equity and
is bound to triumph.—Tarbou, (N. C.)
Advocate.
