whole delight of some people.
Wood is what wo need. Can’t you

Oil, yc; ; that “write-up.” Well one
good friend has not forget it, who says
he is going to pay us. We only charged
about cost, and it was quite a task, as lit¬
tle as you may think about it, to do all
that writing for our friends, some of
whom have paid us. for which they have
our thanks. We know our write-up was
quite feeble, but we ask you to compare it
with the Buchanan write-up in the Atlan¬
ta Journal.
We received a private letter from “Old
Farmer” the other day, and are sorry to
learn that he is suffering severely with
rheumatism. He visited Texas this sum¬
mer,but says he will remain in Arkansaw
a while longer. He thinks that a great
country. Says lie had lather turn his
“chaps loose” there with only twenty-five
cents than to turn them loose here with
fifty cents each. His many friends here
will be glad when we tell them that he is
still holding good to the resolution he
formed a year before lie left this coun¬
try—that was to leave off drinking. (We
mention this fact because we have heard
some express themselves in hopes
that he was leading a sober life.) He
says the corn crop was a “flash” there
last year, and meal sold as high as §1.75
per bushel, but now corn is selling for
thirty-five cents per bushel.
We hope ho will soon be in better
health, for he says, “When I get in bet¬
ter health I willtry and give some of your
correspondents and readers something to
“chaw on.” .- Wo would be glad to hear
from him at any time, for many of Old
Farmers admirers are still making enqui¬
ry about him. Let us hear from you.
