Messrs. W. B. Watson and Sam Sewell
in company with their sisters, Misses El¬
la and Artemisha, left yesterday morning
on a visit to friends and relatives in
Jackson county, Alabama.
Mr. G. R. Hutchens, of Tallapoosa, is a
candidate for the office of solicitor gener¬
al of the Tallapoosa circuit, and is said
to be a strong candidate. Mr. Hutchens
is a successful lawyer, and is quite popu

bell connty last Saturday where he had
been to see his sick mother-in-law, Mrs.
Bowman, who died and was buried while

county, Alabama, are on a visit to friends

The sad and untimely death of Mrs. Su¬
san Edwards, young wife of our esteemed
friend Mr. W. M. Edwards, which occur¬
red at tho home of Mr. S. Edwards last
Saturday evening, will be sad news to our
