The Seorgia Game Laws.
The limiting sewcm iu Georgia began
„u*November 1st. The game laws ot
Georgia are not generally known, for
they have been amended several times
and have not been given prominence in
the newspapers. From November 1st
jto March 15th it is lawful to kiU, but
after the latter date guns must be
encased, except when haw Us, sparrows
and other birds of that stripe bee. me

The game laws of Georgia follow:
Au act to protect insectiverous and
singing birds, and game and auimais
in this state, to prohibit tire taking or
destroying the eggs of gajne birds, to
prohibit the sale .or offering for sale
any of said birds or animals during
certain seasons, to make penal the
violation of the provisions of this
act, to supersede all existing laws on
the Bubjecr of game protection, and
for other purpose*.
Section I Be it enacted by the gen¬
eral assembly of the state of Georgina,
and it is hereby enacted lry author! y
of the same, That on and after the
passage of Liijs act it shall be unlawful
for any person to shoot, trap, kill,
ensnare, net, or destroy in any manner
wild turkey, pheasants, partridges, or
quail, or any insectiverous or singing
birds, except English sparrows, crows,
larks, rice birds, night hawks, wheat
birds, and doves, between the 15th day
of March and Jst .day of November.
It shall alse be unlawful to shoot,
trap, kill, ensuare, net, or in any man¬
ner destroy any doves between the 15th
day of March and the l§th day of
August.
It shall also be unlawful for any
person to hunt, kill, |hoot, wound,
ensnare, or in any manner destroy or
capture any wild deer or fawn between
the 1st day of January and the 1st day
of Sepfcc?ber.
It shall also be unlawful for any
person to sell or offer .for sale any game
bird or auimal, or any part of either,
whether dead or alive, that are pro¬
tected by tills act, during the periods
so protected, and it Shall be taken and
deemed as prima facie evidence of a
violation of the provisions of this act
for any person to be found in posses¬
sion of any of the animals or birds (or
the eggs of birds) during the periods
in which they are protected by this
act; and auy person or persons who
shad violate aDy of the provisions of
this act as enumerated iu this section
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.
Sec. 3. Be it further enacted, That
this act shall supersede all existing laws
ou the subject of game and game
protection, and shall have a uniform
and general application; and that all
laws and parts of laws in conflict with
this act ba and the same are hereby
repealed.

take for the purpose of sale, except
upon his own land, wild turkeysi
quail, doves, or deer without a
license; to fix a penalty for the vio¬
lation of this act, and for other
purposes.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the Gen¬
eral Assembly of Georgia, and It is
hereby enacted by authority of the
same, that from and after the passage
of this act it shall be unlawful for any
person to trap, net. kill, or in any way
take for the purpose ot seeing the
same, except uppii his own land, during
the hqutjug season, wild turkeys, quail,
dqves, or deer.
Sec. % Be it further enacted, That
auy persou desiring to kill, trap, net,
pr in any way take for the purpose of
solhur; the same, except upon his own
land, any of the game mentioned in
the foregoing section, shall before
so pay to the treasurer of the county
in which J}, Resiles to kill, net, trap,
or take spell game t)io sum of $25,
and upon the exhibition of such

any person violating the provisions of
this bill shall be punished as for a
misdemeanor.
Sec. 4, Be it enacted, That all la ws
and parts of laws in conflict with this
act be and tbe same are hereby repealed.

and prevent exportation of same
beyond the limits of the state.
Section 1, Be it enacted by the Gen¬
eral Assepijfiy of tbpl .state of Georgia,
pnd it is hereby enacted by authority
<|if the same, That it shall be unlawful
for any persou or persons, firm or
corporation to export or sliip, send or
carry beyond the limits of said state,
auy quail or partridge, at any se^qj; of
the year.
Sec. 2. Be it further enacted, That
it shall be and is hereby declared
unlawful for any persou or peroops
within tije limits of said state to net
partridges or quails at any season of the
year.
Sec. 3. Be it further euacted, That
any person violating the provisions of
this act, upon eonviction shall be pun¬
ished as prejicriled in section 1039 of
volume 5 of the code of 1895.
Sec. 4. Be it further enacted, That
ail laws and parts of laws in conflict
with this act be and the same are
hereby repealed,
