Mr. Buchanan, the late Minister to

turned from that country, and reports
that the Argentine wheat crop this
year will be great enough to permit
an export of from 40,000,000 to 50,-

have not a little effect upon the price,

AIDED BY MRS. PINKHAM.
Mrs “ ®‘ W '■ E p.v 1 ■ XTON TO „ > Yrmmrfntvn Youngtown,
.North Dakota, writes about her Strug-
gle to regain health after the birth of
he it • little girl' *■«» '
Dear „ Mrs. T>„ I inkham: n It is . with
pleasure that I add my testimony to
your list, hoping that it may induce
t thers t< avail A-u t.iemselves __ i of £ your val- i
liable medicine.
“After the birth of my little girl,
three years ago. my health was very y
- ",
poor. T I ,,, had leucorrhoea ,,, badly, and , a
terrible bearing-down pain which
gradually grew worse, until I could do
no work. Also had headache nearly
all the time, and dizzy feelings. Men¬
struations were very profuse, appear¬
ing every two weeks.
“ I took medicine from a good doctor,
but it seemed to do no good. I was
becoming alarmed over my condition,
when I read your advertisement in a
paper. I sent at once for a bottle of
Lydia E. Pinkham’s Vegetable Com-
ponnd, and after taking two-thirds of
the bottle I felt so much better that I
send for two more. After using three
bottles I felt as strong and well as any
one.
“ I think it is the best medicine for
female weakness ever advertised, and
recommend it to every lady I meet suf¬
fering’ from this trouble.”
Maternity is 'a wonderful experience
and many women approach it wholly
unprepared. Childbirth under right
conditions need not terrify women.
The advice of Mrs. Pinkham is freely
offered to all expectant mothers, and
her advice is beyond question the most
valuable to be obtained. If Mrs. Pax¬
ton had written to Mrs. Pinkham be¬
fore confinement she would have been
saved much suffering. Mrs. Pinkham’s
address is Lynn, Mass.

Ramsdell in ten years made an enor¬

Electric Spanking.
Electricity tells us: Warden C. P.
Hoyt, of Denver, is said to have de¬
signed an electric spanking chair for
use in the industrial school in that
city. It consists of a seatless chair,
on which the refractory pupil is placed,
and is high enough from the ground
allow of four paddles being operated,
presumably by a small electric motor.
The pupils who are made to go through
this ordeal will probably no longer be¬
lieve in the old saying that “lightning
