Mils the .Wth Senatorial district. I ask the sup¬
port «f the voters*f myself, Volk, If elected, Paulding and render Haral¬ the

vice in uiy power. John I. Full wood.
Did you fail to register. If bo
you are disfranchised for the next
two yoars.
Mayor Coleman, of Carrollton,
hi in favor of n dispensary, instead
of the "blind tiger” system as now
fxiat in that town.
..... - -
Hop, J. R. Hogan has flowing
whiskers, and Tom Watson has a
pair of now shoes, is the latest
news from democratic headquar¬
ters.
Look out for campaign lies
hatched out by the champion in¬
cubator in Atlanta, and sent out
to little hireling sheets for circu¬
lation.
.Now let our contemporary ex¬
plain away the “Duncan rape cir¬
cular" and that Hardeman affair
and all will be forgiven. Tackle
'er bud; tackle 'er!
It is a fact that possibly every¬
one don’t know, but it is neverthe¬
less true, that editors have to live,
•at and subsist, wind have the same
needs and wants that real folks
have.
An Alabama lawyer suggests
that the lawyers build a battleship.
Please don’t attempt it. Before
$20 was raised some Georgia law¬
yer would ask for a continuance,
and nothing more would be done.
We do hope that our democratic
friends will pay back to the widow
Hardeman the ten thousand dol¬
lars her husband borrowed in his
own name for campaign purposes,
and which she is now paying out
of his life insurance money. To
fail to do this would be another
indelible stain of infamy upon the
party.
One of the funniest things im¬
aginable is the fellow who says he is
going to support K. S. Griffith in
tins county for representative, be¬
cause Mr. Griffith is for Col. Price
Edwards for judge, and then turn
’round and say he is going to vote
for lawyer Bunu for state senator,
because Mr. Bunn is for the re-
election of Judge Janes. Funny,
ain’t it?
The old cry of "negTo suprema¬
cy" has been raised by the demo-
•ratie press and campaigners be¬
cause the populists of the eleventh
district have indorsed Mr. Wilkin¬
son, the republican nominee for
congress. That old cry was worn
threadbare iu 1892-1894, and it
won’t fool the people this year.
Mr. Wilkinson is as white as his
opponent, and we believe will more
nearly represent the intereels of
the entire people of this district
than Mr. Brantley—Dublin Cou¬
rier.
We should bear in mind that
the election is only about three
weeks off, and how important it is
that every lover of gcod govern¬
ment should ho up and doing!
Brother, there is not one among
you but what «*» do something
for the success of the ticket. There
is no one but what has some influ-
©nee. It ie said that words fitly
spoken are like “‘appleeof gold iu
pictures of silver;”'and some word
you may speak will cause some one
to think and study, and the light
of truth will shine in and they
will see the old party errors aud
like brave and honest wot*
for their rights and liberties.
BE ON YOUR GUARD.
It seems that some of the
ocratic candidates are beginning
see defeat starving them in
face, and hare been heard to say
that “they were beat if something
wasn't done soon."
Now, while we are and have been
laboring for the sucoess of the
people’s ticket, we feel a satisfac¬
tion that proceeds from a con¬
sciousness that to accomplish this
we have not resorted to disreputa¬
ble means or unfair methods. Wo
have been and are still battling
for human rights and those prin¬
ciples that existed in the nature
of things anticedent to any posi¬
tive precept, and which began to
take shape before the centuries
were numbered with three figures,
and principles which will live
while time lasts.
We have always contended that
when the people could bo made to
see the justice of our cause, and
the fallacy of our opponents argu¬
ment, and learn that we are not
fighting private individuals, but
"bosses" and their political tricks
which are detrimental to the every
interest of the people, and which
is bringing the country to degra¬
dation and ruin.
We appeal to you to align your¬
self with the only party that is in
sympathy with the masses of the
people. And we are glad to know
that the good people of Haralson
county are beginning to see things
as they really exist.
Now, we expect our opponents
will Circulate everything that is
possible to injure our candidates
before the election comes off. Al¬
ready some of these have been dis¬
covered and scotched, and you may
look for others on the heels of the
election.
Be on your guard!
THE CONSTITUTION’S SCARE-
CROW.
It is astonishing to what low-
down methods the Constitution
will stoop to detract attention
from the real issues—that of re¬
form iu state affairs—one of which
is the sending of Frank Weldon to
North Carolinia to hunt up a block
scarecrow with which to frighten
timid Georgians. And he got his
information from the News and
Observer, a paper published in
Raleigh, which is the personal or¬
gan and mouth-piece of ex-Gov.
Jarvis, who was defeated for the
senate, and said paper is said to be
the biggest liar in seven states, and
the idea of the Constitution try¬
ing to puff and blow up as frivo¬
lous a matter as that when they
knew there was nothing in it, and
Frank Weldon knew it; but of
course it was expected that he
would get up something that could
be magnified and doubled and
twisted and added to, and create a
sensation among those who know
1*0 better. But the people of the
state of Georgia, or the most of
them at least, can read and write
and will not let such abominable
misrepresentations go unrefuted.
The Constitution knows as well
as it knows anything that the peo¬
ple’s party is as much opposed to
anything like social equality as
any party; and the Constitution
also knows that the people’s party
has never stooped to the methods
to control the negro vote that they
have. Our candidate for governor
haa never issued any rape circu¬
lars, and we have bad no one like
Col. H aide man to borrow ten
thousand dollars for campaign
purposes.
Gladly wculd we have pulled the
manile of oblivion over this al¬
most sacriligious affair, as it in¬
volves the name of a good man,
had not, the Constitution deliber¬
ately and knowingly published
what it knew to be untrue, but
when we consider that the success
of the party that controls or its
defeat is a life and death matter
with the Constitution and its
hoard of henchmen, we had rather
go down in«honorable defeat than
resort to such disreputable meth¬
ods for success.
But we are battling for a refor¬
mation in our national and state
governments. We stand for hu¬
man rights as guaranteed to us by
the consstitution, and of which we
have been wronfuHy robbed by
the party that controls. And how
any laboring man can look the
woman of his bosom in the face
—that mother of his children who
has been his helpmeet from early
manhood, and cast his eyes upon
the defenceless responsibilities
prattling around his household,
and say he will vote .for a party
that would still further enslave
lim, is something beyond onr com¬
prehension.

TO HON. JAMES R, HOGAN.
[MAXY * TONK ,)
The ruler of old Georgia no».
In rising f oin the west;
And Jimmie Hogan's noble brow
Shall wear the ruler’s crest.
Proud Candler and his bold colleagues
Shall vanish from the land,
And our noble Jimmie Hogan
Shall firmly take hia stand.
Come then ye loyal pepulists
In alt our land so fair,
We'll hoist our Jimmie Hogan
To the governor’s honored chair.
And as our man goes stepping up,
'Midst brightly waving lights,
wo'll giv e three cheers for the populists.
And their creed of equal rights.
We would like for every one not
yet in ivmpathy with this reform
movement to take up the populist
platform and read it section by
section; study it and properly di¬
gest it, giving it your candid and
sober thought; and giving it such
consideration answer this ques¬
tion : Is there a single seutence
or paragraph that would be detii-
mental to the masses of the peo¬
ple? Is there a single sentence in
it that would be injurious to the
laborer? After deliberation you
will answer in the negative.
Gold, silver, copper, mokle, tin,
zinc, paper, chips, whetstones or
any old thing that Uncle Sam over
his signature says is a dollar, is a
dollar anywhere in these United
States, and the man who says to
the contrary is (if not a fool) a
robber in practice and a traitor at
heart, and we can lick him out of
his boots.—Kansan.
We are sorry to learn that Mrs.
W. P. Robinson is quite sick. We
hope to soon chronicle her perma¬
nent restoration to health.
Commercial men are beginning
to crowd our businessmen for or¬

from them in the near future.
