Nashville, Tenn., March 14 Governor Taylor pardoned Judge W. J. Leonard on condi tioe that he leave the State and never return. While county judge of Marshall county Leonard stole a number of bonds that had been redeemed and reissued them, pocketing the proceeds. One of his victims prosecuted him and he received a sentence of three years in the penitentiary. The Supreme Court recently affirmed the sentence and Leon ard had just begun to serve his time. The condition that he leave the State is, of course, not binding, aa he is free and can do as he pleases. The Governor also pardoned Charles W. Harris, from Me. Minn County, who was in for five years for forgery. SPAIN’S PACIFIC WAR. Philippine Insurgents Encour aged bv The American Crisis . London, March 14.- -Special dispatches from Shanghai say there is little douht that the pros pect of trouble between the Unit ed States and Spain has caused the rebellion iu the Phillippme islands to break out again and has increased the fierceness of the insurgents, who, it is declared, have captured Atirri and Gamar ag, important towns connected by railroad with Manila.
