Linha ti Son’s spring and summer milinery opening was decidedly the prettiest of the season, and that the ladies of Rome appreciated their efforts to make it a success, was proven by the number of stylishly dressed matrons and dainty maidens who thronged their immense store on yesterday is to say Miss Emmerson, the trim mer, whose services have been secured, is one of the most ar tistic designers who lias ever been in Rome. Among the hats that were most admired was a burnt or ange, trimmed with burnt or ange ribbon and handsome black plumes. Also one that attracted a great deal of attention was a turquoise blue trimmed with black and white wings a id owl rosettes and turquoise ribbon shirred cn cable cord. The mourning tables were especially attractive, showing a great amount of work and spe cial designing. An all gray hat was admired by all. A big white leghorn was beau tifully trimmed with sprangled net, long black plumes and liber ty silk ; turned up at the side. The little ones were certainly remembered in this display. A hat that will adorn one of the daintiest little tots, is a white chip trimmed with mousseline de soie and lillies of the valley, with soft ties and millinery plaiting, which is so stylish this season. A reporter called late this af ternoon and was shown through by Mrs. Reece, who has entire charge of the millinery depart ment, The decorations were ar ranged by Mrs. Reece, showing an artistic eye. They were of yellow and while, the popular colors of the season. These are only a few of the many beautiful things seen while in their large department stores.
