I Rl'lL E vt I —— ■“ True to every trust, faithful |„ every duty, John C. Foster, |„„did.te tor repreeeutattv. ItreraFloydis a man who has I been tried and never found I wenting. «« *«' l,6 « lMted - I Mark that prediction. uo o You know, it strikes me as I being very, very funny for the I people who sei themselves up as I o reformers,” to undertake to I wake the peop'e believe that to I remove such a model official as I V. E- Beyseigel, and place in I hi» stead a man whois no better I M *man, aud who must needs I be decidedly inferior as an ofli- I cial and yet tell the dear people I that such a change is absolutely I necessary in order that “reform I be worked. 000 I have no idea that another couuty in Georgia has so perfect ly trained a clerk of court. Cf course the man who opposes Mr, Beyseigel is a good man. He comes from a good family and he has a perfect right to aspire to any office within the gift of the people. I say its alright that far. 000 But at the same time, that clever gentleman, even if he has joined the “reformers,” must admit that it the people wish to retain in office a man whose en tire life has been spent in a strictly clerical office, who has by constant attention to duty become a well regulated index and office machine, a man whose services have been so clock like as to make them invaluable to • the office and to the public ser vice, why they will be compell ed to turn said aspirant down. 000 And that’s what they propose to do. The people know Clerk Beyseif el and Deputy Walter Ross. They have raised these two officials and trained them fora particular office. They propose to see to it that both aie retained—and that by a big ma jority—both in the primary and the general election. 000 Why should Bob Foster, the most enterprising of tax asses sors not serve Floyd county for the ensuing two years? He has held the office long enough to demonstrate to the people that he is onto the very best system in securing the returns of all the property that exists. 000 To change now—and from * J «t I can see, hear and gather the people have not the remotest idea of defeating Mr. Foster at the coming elections—l B ay to change now means that an un experienced man would be put this responsible office and t >at by lack of experience in the “ew official the tax returns will necessarily be far from complete “nl-the county will be the looser. 000 ( >f course Bob Foster is not only man in Floyd county 10 fill the office of tax as ’oSß°r- Os course not. But when comes to a matter of choice as hehveenmenof proven ability and men who gieen in t | le business, ‘y the practical voter will do ea practical man, look to the Z® ? * nt f ereßtß of the county by faitl^i 01 tr ' e d and found 1 ul and able public servant, poster w illwi ,,. Murk t|, a , prediction. T1 • OO ° ‘rie is not a more successful ru «y « the Rome bar, years and opportunities considered, than Hon. W. 11. Ennis. 000 Two years ago the people of Floyd county sent W. 11. Ennis Ito th6 legislature as a represen | tative fiom this county. By his pleasing address, genial man ners and best of all his good, hard common sense and splendid ability Mr. Ennis soon became a recognized leader and one of the most popular men of the house. 000 Today, yielding to the solicita tions of a host of friends and a laudablj ambition, he is found in the race for the Floyd county endorsement for nomination to the state senate. 000 And why not? He is not yet a middle aged man, so far as years are concerned, but he is as able and as reliable, as faithful to duty and as capable to lead as any older man or younger man who could be pitted against him. 000 You will see Bill Ennis win out in the nomination, win out in the election and then make a I record in the senate that every man in Floyd county will be proud of.
