LOCAL HAPPENINGS. Nati on a l Fkate rn it v. —The Provisional section of the Na tional Fraternity will meet in this city on May 31st for the purpose of electing a dele gate to the National Board of Control which meets in Phila delphia on June 13. They will meet in the Knights of Honor ITall at 10 o’clock a. m. Odd Fellows.—Judge R. R. Harris and Capt. W. G. Mait land weie among the Romans who left yesterday to attend the Odd Fellows state convention which convenes in Savannah tomorrow and will be in session several days. Hose Jumper —Mr. F, Han son, the enterprising plumber, has built a handsome hose jum per to be taken to Anniston on June 8, at the firemen’s tourna ment. It is useful as well as ornamental and wdl be a sure winner for one of the prizes. Series of Meetings.—Revs. J. 11. Ellis and J. W. Gilliam are holding a series of meetings at the Congregational church m North Rome. They are largely attended ami a great work for the Lord is being done. The Men's Edition. —The Rome Georgian will be out on Sat urday of this week. Mrs Beulah S.
