and McKinley are using the

Washington, May 31. —Orders
have been sent to Chicamauga
for the 3rd regiment to move to
Tampa immediately.
Chattanooga, May 31.—The
69th New York regiment was
ordered from Chicamauga to
Tampa immediately.
Washington, May 31.—Au
gustus W. Stowe arrived hert
- early this morning and said he
would be inaugurated president
by 10 o’clock and that be would
invade immediately. He was
arrested.
121,500 VOLUNTEERS.
Washington, May 31 —Adjt.
Gen. Corbin stated that 121,500
troops had been mustered into
t the army under the call fo’
125.000 men and that the re
maining 3,500 men were in state
camps ready for the mustering
officers.
He said that all the stales and
territories had filled their quota
so far as the recruiting of the
troops was concerned, and that,
1 while thiee states were appar
ently behind, it was not their
fault, but was due to the inabil
ity of the mustering officers to
complete their work. The appa
rent shortage is divided among
the states og lowa, Mississippi
and North Carolina.

long looked forward to, will

Wagner has been chartered for
the occasion and the day will be

May 31.—The greatest excitement

over a rumor that a general ordur
hid been issued to ali troops in
camp here to proceed at once to
Tampa. Every man seemed to be
be glad and there was a general
hustling about in the various
samps, each man acting as though

rumor when traced to its source
by the Associated Press was on
ly partly true, only eight regi
ments being allecied by an order
from the war department as fol

convicts from the Fulton county
convict camp arrived in Rome
this morning over the Southern
Ry. They were transferred to
Chicamauga to work at the coke
ovens. They left this afternoon
over the C. R. &S. Ry , in
charge of W. L. Parks and San
ford Moore. Among the convicts
was Andrew Griffin, a noted
criminal. He goes up for 20
years for murder.
