do Boat Destroyer.
St. Petersburg, June 24.—The
Novoe Vremya has received in
formation that in the recent ty
phoon at Port Arthur, a Chinese
torpedo boat destroyer, lying in
the inner harbor, was driven
ashore and 130 of her crew were
drowned.
The Russian cruiser Vladimir
Monomach sailed out of the har
bor as the typhoon appeared,
but the Russian ironclad Sisoi
Vetiky remained and was badiy
damaged.

panies of Confederate soldiers
that enlisted from Floyd county
Ga., during the late war; and
the Ordinary to appoint a com
mittee of three from each com
pany upon the recommnidation
of the survivors of each compa
ny. The soldiers will have a

the fourth Saturday, Inst. All
are requested to attend and rec
ommend their committeemen.

Adjourned Court. —Judge
Geo. Harris adjourned court yes
terday afternoon until Monday
morning at 8 o’clock, when he
will again take up the civil
docket. Only criminal and jail
cases were tried this week.
Boat Excursion.—Everybody
had a nice time on the Royal
Arcanum boat excursion down
the Coosa yesterday. Elegant

occasion was one long to be re
membered.
Mr. Hamilton Back.—Mr.

day from La Fayette and says

by the Walker county grand ju
ry and that court will probably
