Dismounted cavab'y was sent
to quell the disturbance, but the

Condon, Aug. 27 —The Ma
nila correspondent of the Times,
telegraphing Friday, says the.
military government is working,
efficiently in all departments.
Local business is being resumed,
the water works are in operation
and the Pasig river is open. I
Sirin pent measures have Jjeeu
taken to insure the Sanitation
of the citadel, which is crowded
with prisoners. Among the
American troops there have been
only seventeen deaths from ill
ness since landing.
There is undoubtedly practi
cal unanimity among merchants
irrespective of nationality, in
favor of the permanent occupa
tion of the archipelago by the
Americans. Ncbody conceives
the re-establishment of Spanish
sovereignty possible.

Poisoned by Ivy
Was in a Dreadful Condition

Caso - Followed the Other Man’s
Example and Was Cured.
The following incident is given by
Charles Morris, general jobber, 52 Lexing
ton Avenue, North Cambridge, Maes.:
“Several years ago I became poisoned
by ivy. I tried many medicines, spending
a large sum of money without obtaining
a particle of good. My children were

■.vere all constant sufferers with an awful
itching sensation, and it seemed as if I
ihould tear myself to pieces. I picked
■jp a paper in which I found printed a
testimonial from a man in Vermont who
had been similarly afflicted and had taken
Hood’sSaraapnrillp. with benefit. 1 bought
a bottle, which we took and it did
Mo ant! Wly Children
jo mush good I purchased another supply.
Vvc continued taking Hood’s Sarsaparilla
until we used live bottles and I can
safely say that neither myself nor children
have any signs of the prison. It has en
tirely left us and we are perfectly cured.
We give the whole credit to Hood’s Sarsa
parilla. Before resorting to this medicine
i was reduced in weight, but now I
veigh 175 pound.;. Hood’s Sarsaparilla
has not only done yiuch good but has
been the means of saving me a great deal
of money. 1 would not be without it
in my house and I heartily recommend
it to all who are afflicted. 1 have writ
ten this statement tor publication, of my
,»wn will, as I want others to know’ what
Hood’s Sarsaparilla
has done for us.” Charles Morris.
