Returned Home.—Mr, George Chidsey of Co. 11, Second Geor gia regiment, who was taken dangerously ill in the camp at Tampa with typhoid and later removed to the hospital Fotress Monroe, Va,, returned to Rome last night. He looks pretty well used up after his hard camp life and sickness. Mr. Chidsey states he was treated all right at For tress Monroe, but very badly in Tampa. Ex-Roman Honored.—Rev. Mr. Troutman, of Lyerly, preached at the Mathodist church here last Sunday and Sunday night. Pres ident Souchou of the state board ot health gives out the following record of yellow fever for today. In city, 5 new casesand 1 death In Wilson, 11 new cases, al doing well except one. The firm of Camp & O’Rear is this day (Aug. 27, 1898) dis solved. All parties indebted to them will not pay unless both names, S. D. Camp and J. M O’Rear, are signed to the bills Mr Fred Hanson, an expert plumber ot Rome, was at the Kennesaw House Friday. Mr. Hanson is trying to get the plumbing for the new depot now in progress.—Marietta Journal. Mrs. R. V. Allen, nee Miss Lutie McNulty, now of Rome, Ga., is the guest of Mr. and Mrs P. C. New York Sept. 29.—The wool Exchange suspended operations ii> the wool market yesterday. De pression in the wool trade and the wool industry was said to be the cause of its abandoning the branch of trade. The financial emditian of the corporation is said ‘o be excellent and there are no outstanding debts. The Wool Exchange was estab lished about a year and a half ago. The object of the exchange was to provide a co-op* ration of woolgrowers, general merchants and forwarders, bankers and others interested in the industry of producing or manufacturing wool.
