THE WOOD-HARGIS CASE
gnes Forever Until Preiminary
Trial Monday
The preliminary trial of the
Sidney Hargis case, set for a
hearing before Justice Treada
way, was postponed until Mon
day, owing to the prosecution
asking for it to take that course.
Mr. Hargis’ friends allege
that Mr. C. D. Wood was to pay
the defendant. S4O .00 per month
and that he has been taking that
amount each month and charg
ing himse’f up with the same on
the store books. They allege
that Sidney was getting S3O per
month when clerking for Mr.
Dempsey before Mr. Wood
bought Mr. Dempsey out. They
allege further that Sidney has
not overdrawn his account and
that the prosecution is malic
ious.
Mr. M. B. Eubanks, attorney
for Mr. Chas D. Wood, says that
ne will not discuss the merits of
the case with any one and that
liw has advised Mr . Wood not to do
so. That he and his client deplore
