Reese 66 The above tells the results ol the caucus held by a joint ses sion of the Georgia senate and house in Atlanta last night. For months the’ fight has been on, for weeks in has been interestingly warm, for days it hsa been warmer than warm—it has been hot. . Judge Henry iu his race went to Atlanta, handicapped with the three representatives from Floyd, and the senator from this district all pledged against him and all supporting the candida cy and advocating the claims of Capt. John H. Reese. Judge Henry, however, had the enthusiastic support of Dr. Rudicil, the representative of Clrattooga and Hon. F. W. Copeland, the representative from Walker. This gave Capt. Reece four to two in the Rcme circuit, and six to one in this senatofial dis trict, as both the B artow repre sentatives were against Judge Henry, This was quite a formidable— seemingly an unsurmouatable handicap against Judge Henry. Then, Capt. Reese had a very strong delegation of Romans, headed by Tax Collector Sn - ford and Capt. Featherston, and embracing such well-known and prominent citizens as Mr. Nat Harris, Judge Treadaway, Mr. Sproul Fouche, Mr. John Dav enport, Mr. J. 8. Crawford and others, fighting every inch of the field. To combat these, and wrest victory from the tilt at arms, Judge Henry had, locally speak ing, Clever Bill Ennis, Hon. Moses Wright and Sordon Ta tum assisted by Capt. Jake C. Moore, Mr. W. P. McLeod, Sher iff McConnell, John M. Vandi ver, John W. Bale and others. As Capt. Reese was a mem ber of tine last house and had three to one of the local repre sentatives, it looked as if the fight must be his.
