no home, stood in front of the
Gregory street polite station,
Jersey City, at G p. m. yesterday
when the patrolmen went out

“Can I get lodgings here?”

“No,” was the answer, ‘but if

“ Will one of those lamps do?”
asked Schultz, pointing to the
lights on the station house steps.
“I guess so,” said the officer,
laughing.
“All right,” said Schultz.
“Here goes!” Then he picked
up a brick that lay in the gutter
and deliberately smashed one of
the lamps.
Then Schultz was arrested
