Rear Admital to Rest a Month
Before Assuming Command.

formal naval orders issued this
morning, Rear Admiral Schiff is
detached from duty in connection
with the Porto Rican Commission
and direeted to proceed to bis
home on waiting orders.
In about a month it is intended
to give him a flagship and to assign
vessels to his command for the
formation of a European squadron,
which will be re-established.
