with hie instruction* from Wash
ington. Gen. Lee issued an ordsr
today directing that the Second di
vision of his corps prepare to move
to Cuba at once, Regimental com

There are three transports now
in the harbor—Minnswaska, the
Michigan and the Panama, These
can carry about three regiments,

Miners in Alaska are Working
at N'ght.
Tacoma,Wash., Dec. 3.—The
active volcano recently dis
covered in the Atlia district,
Alaska, is proving a boon to
the miners in that vicinity. The
glare from the spouting lava,
reflected back against the sky
gives an almost continuous twi
light to the upper end of th# At
lin district, enabling the miners
to work nights.
The ashes fell to a depth of
several inches and the stream
down the mountain side increas
ed in magnitude. The fall of
ashes later stopped and the men
returned to work.

PECULIAR POISONS.
GENERATED IN THE HUMAN BODY
Tho Result of Imperfect Digestion
cf Food.
Every living thing, plant or an’,
tnal, contains within itself the
serins of certain decay anil death.
In the human body these germs
of disease and death (called by
scientist* Ptomaines), are usually
the result of imperfect digestion
or dyspepsia.
The stomach, from abuse, weak
ness, do3S not promptly and thor
oughly digest the food. The result
is a heavy, sodden mass which fer
ments (the first process of decay)
poisoning the blood, making it
thin, weak and Jacking in red cor
puscles, poisoning the brain caus
ing headaches and pain in the
eyes.
Bad digestion irritates the heart,
causing palpitation and finally
bringing on disease of this very
important organ. .
Poor digestion poisons the kid
neys. causing Bright’s disease and
diabetes.
And this is so because every or
gan, every nerve depends upon
the stomach alone for nourishment
and renewal, and weak digesti&n
show itself not only in loss of ap
petite and Hesh, but in weak
nerves and muddy complexion
The great English scientist,
Huxley, said the best start in life
is a sound stomach. Weak stom
achs fail to digest food properly,
because they lack the proper quan
tity of digestive acids (lactic and
hydrochloric) and pjptogenic pro
ducts, the most sensible remedy
in all cases of indigestion, is to
take after each meal, one or two ol
Stuart’s Dyspepsia Tablets, be
cause they supply in a pleasant
harmless form all the elements
that weak stomach lack .
The regular use of Stuart’s Dys
pepsia Tablets will cure every form
of stomach trouble except cancer
of the stomach.
They increase Hesh, insure pure
blood, strong nerves, a bright eye
and clear complexion, because all
these result only from wholesome
food well digested.
Nearly all druggist sell Stuart’s
