Sharp will be glad to learn that she is recovering from a re cent severe attrck of LaGrippe. Miss Stella Hale and Mr. Earn est Ward have returned to their home in Centre, Ala., after a pleasant visit to Mrs. J. M. Hale. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Freid, ot Savannah, are the guests of Mrs. Freids’ parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Kuttner, on Fourth avenue. Mr. Thomas Warters is scru pulously honest which fact he establishes in the excellency of his Extra Good cigars. Miss Addie Mitchell will leave next week on an extended visit to Montgomery and Mobile. She will then probably go to Chicago for awhile. Mountain City Hose Co. No. 2, have purchased a handsome white horse from J. F. Greene & Co., to take the place of “Doctor B. who died last week. The new horse has been named “Joe Wheeler.” The cases against Col. B. F. Sawyer and his son Mr. Robert Sawyer and Messrs. Norris and Holmes Smith, have been indefi nitely continued by Mayor Pro tem Hamilton under written agreement of counsel on both sides. We are glad to learn from our ministers and others that the mid week prayer services are being well attended. There is no better sign than that of a church’s spir itual condition. And a good at tendance there, inspires and en courages the pastor. T. Y. Donaldson, the merchant, who was brought back from Frankfort, Ky., by Coker & Co., was given a committal trial be fore Judge Treadaway yesterday afternoon and bound over on a S2OO bond, which he gave. Don aldson is on trial this afternoon in the city court before Judge G. A. H. Harris. City 7 Electrician C. B. Seay yesterday succeeded in fixing the indicator in No. 4 Hose Co’s house. The indicator has all along struck correctly but has failed to register for four years, and it was thought at one time it would have to be sent to the factory, but after being worked at by the City Electrician he discovered where the machinery . was at fault and yesterday it kj-egistered correctly.
