Among the visitors in* Rome, on yesterday, was Rev W A Farris; the Methodist minister at Cave Springs. Dr Bays moved from the Methodist Parsonage yesterday and is now liv ing with Mr and Mrs II Sanford at 64)3 East First Street. Dr Bays has been quite ill but is slowly improving Professor Edward Bnchaenan has postponed his concert from Friday to Monday night. It will occur in the College Chapel at Shorter College Tomorrow night the Hill City Ca dets will hold their regular monthly business meeting as this is the first meeting of the new year it will doubtless be a most enthusiastic one The board of trustees of the Rome Public schools hold an important meeting this - afternoon at which three teachers will be elected Go and hear - Frank Stanton and see J Armory Knox at Nevin’s to night. He at once dressed and proceeded to his office in the eourt house, is sued the license and then at the sol emn hour of midnight proceeded to nuke the twain one when they went their way rejoicing. The parents of the bride knew nothing of the unintended marriage until informed of it on the arrival of tbs young couple between midnight and day.—Chattooga News.
