Carter alias J, C. Ktrd, and claim
ed to be the man who killed Rube
Burrows, just as he did here.
The charge against him there is
impersonating an officer and col
lecting revenue without authority.
He was earried before a U. S.
Commissioner in Biraniugbam
Saturday and bound over to the
grand jury in the Bum of SI,OOO.

early hour Sunday morning Mrs
Etta Waldon died m great agony at
the home of her husband's father on
Broadway, from the effects of a large
dose of carbolic acid, taken with gu'-
eidial intent.
She was discovers 1 shortly after
taking the drug writhing in pain, nnd
medical aid was quickly summoned
The atomsehe pump was applied and
every possible antidote-was a<lmin
istered, but not the slightest relief
was afforded and after an heuref the
most intense suffering the unfortu
nate woman passed away.

gard, a contractor, and the wife of
J. W, Walden, who war, until this
unfortunate occurrence, employed at
the Winchester Steam Laundry.
She was only 17 yeans of age, and
Walden is not yet past 20. Their
marriage, which occurred last Apri’,
I roved an unhappy one, and in a
short time they separated.
