Yesterday Mr. Metcalf, of Cave Spring after a hot persuit over took, the negro at Bluffton. Ala., and recovered a lot of_the goods. Charley was brought to Rome last night and now languishes in Floyd’s county Hotel. Other ne groes, implicated in the crime have been s, o led and wiil bi run in, in a few day?. BOMBS IN WALKER. A bomb was found under the house cf Edward Fowler, a black smith living iu the Cove, in Walk er county, a few days ago, and when exploded by the finders, it tore a great hole in the ground- Fowler lives id the same settle meat with Ryan, who was blown up by dynamite some months ago —Chattooga New s, TO RO ME F 6 RSA F E KE E PIN G John Jone?, under sentence for life from Chattooga wae brought to Rome and put in Floyd county jail for safe keeping this morning, pending a motion tor a new trial. Jones was convicted of murder ing his father. He was brought to Rome by Chattooga's new Sheriff, Peun and deputy Henly. LIVINGSTON LOCONICS. The News From One of Floyds Beet Districts. Mrs. John Evans of Texas Valley was down visitirg relatives in this place last week. About forty young people met at Mrs. Hurbeit J Coulters Sunday evening to have a singing. They would sing a while then take a recess and go out under the cedars to cool, swing andjehat. Soon some|one would start up the music again and this would draw the crowd back in the house, and thus the evening passed p’easantly to all. Little Wyman Nicholson was feed ing a mule through the crevice in a barn last week, and the animal bit his finger ®ff. We had a quiet home wedding in Livingston Wednesday evening at the home of the brides uncle, Mr. T. R. Evans.
